The Kansas one is for the lower 48 from what i read.
Lebanon Kansas near Smith Center Kansas claims to be Geographic Center of the 48 Contiguous United States .
Rugby North Dakota claims the Geographic Center of North America .
Every year on the Saturday before the summer solstice there is a ride called Smack Dab that starts in Lebanon and ends in Rugby . I rode it this year it was flat, boring, hot and windy. But met some great folks and it injected some much needed money into several small communities.

When I got to Texas in '82, all the county roads were gravel and sometimes pretty rutted. But none of them looked like that. Apparently, there's no county maintenance?

I think do to budget cuts or just plain lazy they are not keeping a lot of these dirt roads maintained in the last couple years and with no kids riding ATVs anymore they just get really dilapidated.

the problem with unmaintained roads where I live is after a certain amount of time without county maintenance it reverts back to the land owner and then up comes the fences and gates with no trespassing. not sure it is all legal or not but that is the way it is here anyway. It really kind of sucks for me. Maybe not the land owner though.

That kinda makes sense. We have some weird law(s) that if someone can occupy someone else's property for ten years, without the rightful owner finding out, they can get a deed for it.
