Small tour of S W U.K. Covered around 700 miles with 2 nights away.
First stop was Montecute House. An impressive National Trust house displaying art from the 1500's by unknown artist of famous people such as kings and queens of the era.
Some incredible artwork with some looking like photographs they were so detailed.

Next it was Haynes motor museum near Yeovil in Somerset. Then onto Ilfracombe in North Devon to see the Damien Hurst Statue. 66 feet of pregnant lady with one side showing the scull and baby within.
Then we had a quick dash down to Newquay in Cornwall for an overnight.

The following day we visited a local tin mine museum . The guide there was interested in my bike as his son had the same model S10 in Colorado.

We then headed South to see St Micheals Mount. Unfortunately the tide was in so we didn't get to the island itself. We carried on down to Lands end and the Minack theatre. Both have very impressive views.

Now heading home for the night via St Ives. A very crowded steep narrow streeted little town with a massive enclosed beach/harbour with plenty of hire boats.
The trip to and from St Ives would have been impossible in a car due to the massive volume of traffic we passed.

The following day we headed to Bristol to see the SS Great Britain. Well worth a visit for a look into the 1840's life.

After spending most of the day in Bristol seeing the old docks a look at the Cliffden suspension bridge we headed for our overnight in Bath. A beautiful city with fantastic architecture and of course the Roman baths.

All in all a very enjoyable little trip on the S10.

I threw it in the mud at the Turtletown, TN, Aztec Ruins. My friend Andre decided to do the same with his GSA.

Your fourth picture shows your problem... You're running a slick on the rear!

The 4th picture is a GSA on Tourances.

I have an e07 with about 400 miles on the Tenere.

This was two weeks ago, a trip to Scotland with my friend John, who rides a Gold Wing.
Sunday 3 September, 6-30am on the road from my house in west London to Johns' house, east of Sheffield, for an overnight stay and another early start Monday.

Day one, Sheffield, through the Borders to our first stop at Nithsdale.

leaving first coffee stop.

Just about to join Britains Rout 66 ;)

Day two to Inverness.

A stop at the Green Welly (at the waypoint shown just north of Loch Lomond)

We got stuck for an hour behind two of these on the road to Fort William.

Me and "Eatn Pie"

Tea/coffee break at Loch Lochy.

The owner of the Hotel in Inverness used to be a speedway rider, he kept his old bike behind the bar. Much cooler than a darts trophy :)

Day three. West coast loop to Poolewe and Ullapool.

The view to the south end of Loch Maree

A short stop at Loch Maree.

Poolewe is where convoys set off to Russia during WW2. The coastal gun emplacements are still there. A single track road and a bleak landscape where the last many would see of home.

Day four.

Back over the border via Edinburgh and its new bridge to our last stop at a delightful B&B.

Views from the bedroom window.

On day five we rode down through the Lake District and parted at Clitheroe, Lancashire at my sons home. My total miles, including Clitheroe to west London, 1663.
I did not take as many pictures as I used to because most of the roads traveled can be viewed on Google Street View.

The "EATN PIE" Florida number plate was given to me by Paul Mearz, who used to be on this site. We used to meet up in the Alps and he gave the plate to my partner to give to me on my 65th birthday. That was 2014, the last time we saw Paul he was unwell and we have not heard from him since.
So I took his gift on a tour of Scotland.

Gregory kindly led the way to the Principality of the kingdom of Wales yesterday. Great rideout for the two of us with a trip close to the Black Mountains as the road up to the top was closed due to mayor road repairs and a nice trip to the Brecon Beacons and three or maybe four reservoirs. Chicken curry lunch with (fries)chips and rice in a visitor centre in one of the many forests in the area. Weather was good until we came back to England on the M5 motorway near Bristol where it tipped it down for about 20 minutes!
Photo of a quick photo stop on top of the Brecons. Greg on his new '17 S10. My 15 in grey on the left.

Took mine down to the South of Island for a run, stopped off for a brew and to dry out a bit, pouring with rain as is usual, headed home round the TT course via Ramsey, soaked wet through but the bike still brings a smile to my face

Started a long weekend with an annual dinner with at the graves of my folks on a ridge top in Southeast Ohio. Lots of beautiful twisty backroads and perfect weather.

With all the politics about Civil War, places like this will never change. Note the dedication on the concrete.

Growing up in the area and coming across lots of the usual Amish carriages, I know to watch the blind corners and be able to stop. But came around one blind curve without lots of reserve and there was a small malnourished horse running my way in my lane so the combined speed made it really close and I was REALLY thankful to have ABS.

A couple of dozen miles later had 5 turkeys flush across the road into me and the 5th committed suicide by motorcycle. The impression as a rider was the impact on my knee and an incredible explosion of pin-feathers! Too bad it was so long till Thanksgiving. Wild turkey with no risk of biting on a piece of shot!

Then to the big motorcycle show in Columbus. This is the North American trade show which puts the annual Progressive Insurance shows to shame. Talked to a lot of folks, bought a couple of toys, and had a good time. Honda easily again won the "Ugliest Bike" award with this thing:

Other stuff:
Paul Pelland www.longhaulpaul.com and his bike were in the Yamaha display to raise money for MS.

Saturday night was the AMA Bike Night. Very few adventure bikes.

Coming home, rode the "Devil's Byway" (Ohio 666), the Triple Nickel (Ohio 555) and then up through Wayne National Forest (26). Not hard to guess what this company is known for.

Found it ironic that a sign for the Devil's Byway 666 points toward a casket company.
>:D

The whole area is "Heart of America" stuff and a good time.

It was such a nice day at 21C (70F) that I took a nice ride out to the lake. My Givi top case came in the mail today so it also gave me a chance to check it out on the road. I like how well it matched the OEM Yamaha panniers. The panniers open without interference from the case.
