Disappointment? Do explain.
Was a 40mph limit, monitored by average speed cameras and a fairly short section of mountain road. Also lots of sheep about in the road. The roads to the TG road and after it were excellent though. TBH I find this to be true with a few of the named passes in Europe, people seemed to be drawn to the Stelvio, the B500, The Furka etc, which are all good in their own right, however there’s so many other exceptionally good roads in those regions.

Bit like the NC500 in Scotland. The East side is not really worth riding. Drop down at Laxford Bridge A838 down to Bonar Bridge much better than the North East coast.

Best roads for the S10 around there are all around the resorvoirs. Elan Valley area. Very quiet lovely scenery.
Am staying close to the Elan Valley, did a loop through there today. Very nice around that way. Hopefully more pics to follow.

I do a nice route from Landrindrod Wells around the Claerwen and Lyn Brianne Resorvoirs round to Elan Valley. Excellent and much quieter than it is when you go more North.

If your up that way you must ride the Mountain Road to Aberystwyth.

Did that today, enjoyed it. Someone on here recommended Llyn Brianne last year or the year before, I did it last year. I really enjoy those isolated routes.

I agree with you about Stelvio and Furla ( both beautiful in my humble opinion) but like you said there are a lot of less famous and equally interesting and astonishing places around...
By the way I have had the enormous pleasure to meet a member here ( Italy) from Wales ( Mr Treeman)...
So watch out!!!
I will be on my way to Wales in a couple of years ih ih ih ...
