Just as a reminder for folks, replace your wheel bearings.

I bought mine used 2.5 years ago, with 35k kms on a 14. Changed them with an All Balls kit.

Last Thursday, I stopped by my dealer, asked the parts lady to order me another set, I figured that 100k kms was enough, they were due.

Saturday, I was swapping out a worn rear tire. Cleaning and greasing the axle, thought there was more grime than there should be. Yup, wheel inner bearing is loose. Guess my radar was going off and I didn't realize why.

New bearings tomorrow. :D

I made up this chart quite a while back. I keep it on my phone, along with a bunch of other Super Tenere info. I figured that, if I was on the road and ever had to source a wheel bearing somewhere, it might come in handy. I eventually bought a set of OEM wheel and headset bearings to keep handy in case I needed them, and that gave me a chance to measure the bearings. It might help if I ever have to get on the phone with a bearing supplier; at least I could give them the bearing dimensions and hopefully that would help them find a match.

I had the rear bearings replaced at 61,000 miles. I always rotate the bearings by hand when I do a tire change, and I could feel the notchy feeling in the rear non-drive side. At 98,000 miles, I'm still on the original front bearings and hub clutch bearing. When I did a front tire change about two weeks ago, the front bearings still felt fine.
