I just bought a new 2013 Super Ten and I am in the process of setting it up to my liking. (I already love it!) My old Vstrom (that I bought used) had a Stebel horn on it when I got it. Does anyone know of a loud horn kit that bolts right on without any difficult modifications?

Thanks,
dana

Just ordered a stebel today, it may not be the easiest install but after having stebels on my klr and my versys its the only horn for any bike I own.

Most nay horn needs a relay and to be powered off the battery.

Mine is off a Cadillac and is loud. Got it and the relay at the salvage yard for about $3.

Dana, I agree that a loud horn is important for safety. We're lucky. The stebel horn is well suited to the S10. You'll need to separate the air compressor from the horn. The air compressor goes where the factory tool kit lived. The horn section clips to the upper fork. You'll need a bit of tubing to connect the two. I would also recommend a wire tie under the horn just to make sure it stays put.
Somewhere on this forum is a tutorial. Do a search. Good luck.

For simplicity the PIAA slim line from Yamaha is plug and play. No extras needed. I bought one as a temporary set up until something better but it's doing good as is. Maybe not as loud - but it's loud!

Back in the 1970s, we ran dual tone horns from a company called Fiamm. If I recall, they were electric and were simple to install - just clamped them to the struts of my Windjammer fairings. Those things were LOUD!

::026:: on the PIAA slim line horn. It is not as loud as an air horn, but substantially louder than the factory squeaker.
