I don't even think that's legal on that ramp is it?

The middle of my center stand is getting totally sand blasted. And I have a few serious dings presumably from rocks on the center stand, so I built a suspension link / center stand guard... That should take care of any further damage... ::008::

Jaxon is a complete bastid. He keeps making cool shit we want. Practially forcing use to dig deep and send him money to feed our habit of wanting stuff that's totally bomb proof on our bikes. He is a Bad Man! ::025:: ::025:: ::025::

But damn, that center stand protector is hawt. :p

Here is a map http://g.co/maps/6ghpw where the accident happened. "B" is the off ramp. As you can see we cross under highway 101 so the ramp is down hill. He (90's Ford F250 with the rear glass blacked out) was at the light when I arrived stopping a half car length behind him. He said he sat through two lights without his changing to green. Impatient and he backed up. Said he could not see me. Dah! blacked out rear glass. His rear bumper seemed to be a tiny bit higher than my front tire. Blew the front of the fender into pieces and pushed me back about a foot. Everybody that heard about it asked if I fell. Honestly it never entered my thoughts. My price on the front fender is $100 and I am going to have the frontend checked for damage. If they need the Tenere for more than a day I get to borrow a friends Busa, woohoo!

edit: http://g.co/maps/tygm6 this is what I was going to ride. Use Street View or 3D to enjoy the Creek(s) ride.

Sun was out yesterday and so as soon as I'd got Lilie Rose off to school it was off down to Touratech for me.

Don't worry you missed NOTHING at all it was CLOSED ::010:: :'(

I was going to check the web but forgot. :-[
The ride down is BRILLIANT though and with the weather being just superb Sunshine all the way it was a great ride. Even if 212 miles door to door was a long way to go to find the shutters down. They were in but all locked down so headed over to the Adventure Brke Riders meeting at Startford upon Avon to find 5 bikes and not a sole to speak to Not my fecking day all in all.

Put ear plugs in ready to leave and one of the guys who had come out of the restaurant with 5 others came over to ask if I was ther for the "Talk" that night, I told him I was heading off home. He was a little supprised after how far I had ridden ??? I just got on my bike and headed home and out for tea with J.

STATS

Set off at 9.30am filled up at ASDA called by the Raven to plum in Touratech.

Arrived Tourateck 13.30 so a steady 212 miles door to door - drank a small bottle of water took picture

Plummed in Stratford Upon Avon location after finiding it on mobile google 100 and odd miles

Arrived Stratford 14.15 as roads were well busy filled up as done 1 mile on reserve so tank returned 321 miles to reserve (reserve = 50miles) = ::018::

Plummed in home another 127 miles ate a snikers drank my water had a very breif chat with some guy with my ear plugs in and lid on. That was after standing around and taking pictures of a brand new World Crosser Super Ten .

Arrived home at 19.12 due to Stratford and Birmingham Rush Hours getting in the way.

So 486 miles (almost half an SS1000) in just under 10 hours. Three breaks and two fillups. OH and got home without petrol guage moving I LOVE MY NEW TANK!!!! ::015:: ::021::

Installed Pro Taper Contour Raptor handlebars. A huge improvement in ergonomics for me. Still not perfect, but I think with the addition of the Rox 1 up and 1 back risers they will be perfect. Now to figure out how to attach the bar end weights. Planning on using large well nuts unless someone has a better idea!

You also need to use 3.5" bolts. Luckily I had two stainless steel bolts in my stash.

Got back to Texas. Had MY S10 parked in the living room while abroad.

So after riding someone else's for 2 weeks, it was nice to be back on mine. She didn't even seem aware of my 2-timing behavior.

On the commute to work, it was amazing how different 2 machines that started out identical (almost; Eurospec vs U.S.) at birth could be so different now.

I already miss the cooler temps though. Texas heat. It's coming. Again.

Taking it to the shop to have the frontend checked after being hit by a pickup backing up on an off-ramp. Also getting a new front fender.

edit: The shop checked the front wheel for being true, forks for function and damage, replaced the front fender. The forks were a little bit out of alignment. I got a $25.36 discount on the fender and installed for free (normally $22). Cost the guy that hit me $170 and no report to the CHP or his insurance. I feel this was a fair deal..

Rode it 50 miles (5 miles on gravel) for a test ride. It is still a 600 pound Sport Bike with the side cases off.

Was going to ride to Sutcliffe NV to see the Solar Eclipse tomorrow but think I will spend time with family. Still bummed about losing two KLR friends in a week.
