I'm too cheap, I just carry a metal job box cover. I tied a string to it long enough to loop over the handlebar, and I reel it up and put it back in the tank bag once I'm mounted.

It's been a tank bag staple for several bikes now.

Made an appointment for next Monday with Bill Mayer in Ojai, Ca for a ride-in seat fitting.

Hope to turn my seat into something like this (from another post on this site):

Switched my handlebars to Renthal Fatbars 602-01 (though I ordered 819-01 but was sent the wrong bars), I decided to try to
fit all controls to these bars anyway, it worked with a slight angle at the mirrors.

They are now without handguards and bar-end weights but I took a 100 km ride anyway, felt cool, vibrated some but very different kind
of vibes compared to stock buzzing, more of an even and drumming/pulsing. It will be exciting to fit weights on those later on.

Recommends to get bars with around 210 mm space for controls, that should be plenty enough.

Installed the Madstadt bracket and the 20" , then road 180 mile to Daytona.

This is the perfect combo for me, from upto 110mph all the wind was directed over my head. ::012:: ::015::

I used his products on three other bikes with good success but on the Tenere it seem to work the best.

Mark's a good guy, builds a great product, and provides excellant customer service. Don't fart around with searching for the "perfect" windscreen, just get a Madstadt bracket and I think you will be very happy. You may want to try it with the stock screen to see if that works for you!

Regards, Paul

As many have done before me, I have finally installed my AltRider Luggage Rack. Very nice, and easy to install. Only a half a beer job! ::008::

Looks good. I also stuck to a basic cover when Renazco reworked the seat on my last bike. Might opt for suede if I ever pull the trigger on a seat build for this bike.

The Hepco Becker/Wunderlich one has been working pretty well for me. The knurled edge on the back makes it easy to grab with your boot.

Same here. Simple, well made, price is competitive to the others. Beats welding a washer to the sidestand (KLRista mode).

I fitted some Symtec grip heaters and a First Gear Heat Troller.

Nice! Did you wire the Hi-Lo elements in parallel for maximum heat?

Washed and preped the bike for the beginning of what I hope is a succesfull Iron Butt Master Traveler attempt. All I need to do when I get up in the morning is throw the last few items in my Wolfman Dry Bag and hit the road for the south. I plan to make the following states weather permitting. Kentucky , Tennessee , Mississippi , Louisiana , Alabama , Georgia , Florida and South Carolina on this leg. May not make them all but I'll have fun trying.
