I've been busy gettng kit ready for IBA UK Waterloo RTE. Taking Ben so have to think for two :-[

Spent a few minute swaping out a few more RUSTY Bolts. First it was the TT ones now the MM ones

And this is in just 4 months of being on the bike

Swapped out for Stainless replacments from fleeBay

and Saturday it was the turn of the TT ones

Now these have only been on a matter of weeks - 5 at the most ::007::

I swapped thesee out before goung down the the Overlanders meeting at The Ace Cafe but I have to say after a call to one of the guys at TT they did offer to replace the bolts and would take spares to the meeting. Never did get round to collecting them though. Nice offer mind all the same ::008::

Other stuff I've done. Well the XT1200Z Tank Conversion Project Blog post is all set to go live with a full Picture Flow of the job. Just need the nod from J before I hit the Post button ::013:: So all in all not a bad day. Just looking forward to the Hull - Rotterdam overnight crossing with Dinner - Bed & Breakfast.................. Thought it would be nice to arrive in Belgium all fresh ready for the WW1 Battlefiled route I have planned out for Sunday. Got a great Coast Road ride planned till we cut inland across to Waterloo on Saturday ::012::

Ordered the Wasp heated grip controller bracket from Motorrad Garage today....at least I think I did. Had to do it all via email, so I suppose I won't get a reply until they come into work. With my luck, they probably don't work on Saturday. :D

I will let you know when I take it out for a long ride. I had one on my V-Strom and it was excellent.

Touratech Screen Mount
Touratech Sat Nav (660) Bracket
Touratech Big Foot

having the Arrow system and PC 5 fitted next week.

Note to self, stop buying stuff for the S10!

I rode my S10 over to the Gateway BMW, St Louis, Mo. jambalaya cook off and while I was there, picked up my Touratech side stand foot extender. I installed it when back home ---- fits great, looks good, and hopefully the side stand won't let the bike fall over in soft terrain. Then, I subjected my S10 to the awful stripping down of my 2009 KLR650 for sale.

Installed my Givi crash bars. I have the bike set up just the way I want it. I may add a skid plate sometime. And I still need to wire power to my GPS.

I just installed a new Givi airflow windshield Thursday. I'm a long in the torso 6'4" and buffeting/obnoxious wind noise are the bane of my riding existance. After a lot of reading and shopping around, I decided to give Givi a try. I've only put 60 miles of mixed riding since install. So far, pretty good. Some wind noise, and almost no buffeting. I'm going to get a windshield adjustment bracket next and hope that, with the additional 3" vertical adjustment, along with the front to aft angulation option, I can tweak it to perfection.

Took her to the dealer for the first service - all was fine. And hopefully won't go back until the valve check at 24k...

Only 100 miles on Big Blue, and I've made only a few basic adjustments:
-lowered shift lever and brake pedal
-softened fork compression damping and shock preload
-drained out the 1/3 liter or so of excess/overfilled oil
-adapted the set of magnetic tank protectors retained from my just-sold VFR
-made some notes from this thread about what to do next, which oils to use, how to fix turbulence over the windscreen, etc. thanks!
I'm bonding very quickly with the big beast, enjoying breaking it in. This is obviously a very capable, confidence-inspiring bike. It's already obvious why there's so much enthusiasm for it.

Last Saturday Ol Blue got a new Leo Vince Carbonfiber silencer courtesy of Jaxon @ Ride On ADV. Naturally the quiet core accidently fell out. Love the sound and bike runs great. The OEM muffler weighed 13.5 lbs on the bathroom scales and the LV pipe was only 7. At almost $100 per pound, it was a good mod. Today I started putting on my longer brake & clutch lines also from RonADV for the handlebar risers. Got the clutch side done & bled but had to quit to go watch Alanta SX. How about that Ryan Dungey and his KTM? Won another one. My 450EXC was trying to get out of the trailer it was so happy. But the other Ryan, Villopoto is my pick to win again. Awesome kid. Anywho, will get the brake side tomorrow then I can go try them out. BTW if you do the long lines, it helps to flip the tank back for a little extra room. Plus lowers the chance of getting DOT 4 on the paint. Don't forget to take the hoses loose and unclip the wars. And use a flare nut wrench. LED tail/signal/brake lights for the Jesse side boxes is next. Gonna need a new front tire before too long.

Hung with the youngest entrant to this year's Dakar, Manuel Lucheese,

Hung out with 'Motorcyclist' magazine's Brian Catterson,

Currently on my way home from an amazing Dakar, errr, Death Valley trip.....

I fabbed up a guard for the rear brake reservoir to keep the tire-slung crap off of it. I used .6 mm Kydex. Having fun with that stuff ;D

It's not an original idea, but I'll take the good ones
