I almost put mine in the raised position back in January, but just turned the grip heaters on instead.. . . . put on the summer windshield. . . .
yes, the aerodynamic difference is probably minimal… but the design of the casing makes it seem like there is only one way to put it….I think the wings can go either way.
Its like do you wear your belt buckle below the belly button or above the belly button. Each to their own, personally I prefer mine below the belly button thank you...LOL
You can do that in Texas!I almost put mine in the raised position back in January, but just turned the grip heaters on instead.
And yet the pictures portray two different installations.yes, the aerodynamic difference is probably minimal… but the design of the casing makes it seem like there is only one way to put it….

I installed the deflectors as shown below. The curve at the top seems to scoop the air and force it downward.

y'know - The bike came with them that way, they seem to work, so I never questioned whether they might be backward or not.yes, the aerodynamic difference is probably minimal… but the design of the casing makes it seem like there is only one way to put it….

The windscreen is mounted on rubber well nuts to pop off if you go forward so having something metal bolted in place would make me a bit nervous. It's just an observation, but after seeing how the front part of gv550's bike broke…..it makes me question if that high windshield support, added to the anti-vibration mount…..turns into something dangerous…..No one wants to have an accident where one has to go through the windshield…..but that high mount reminds me of the hands of an “X Men”….How to destroy a perfectly good Super Tenere.
Just drive it into the side of a family van that is going 55 mph! I did this boneheaded move on Saturday, spent the night in Ocala Florida trauma center. Completely my fault, no excuses. Thankfully my wife was not riding pillion this day. Thankfully the young lady driving the van was able to...yamahasupertenere.com

Since I sent a link, maybe what I meant to say is not well understood… but since I see that this windshield support is not the OEM…..and seeing the metal part so high…..I do not want those tips to enter through under the helmet and get stuck in the throat, before the plastic support that holds the entire trunk of the motorcycle, breaksThe windscreen is mounted on rubber well nuts to pop off if you go forward so having something metal bolted in place would make me a bit nervous.
You'll be very happy with that battery. It will crank it nicely and last way more than 3 years. I was going to get one today but the local batteries + didn't have any in stock. I ordered a scorpion LiFePo instead and it will be here soon. My last X2 lasted 9 years in my CBR 1100XX Super Blackbird. Finally changed out the 6yr old OE Yuasa. It still cranked "ok", but my Optimate 3+ was going into desulfate mode on a daily basis. Went the cheap route and bought from our local Batteries, bulbs, and More since they had a 15% off sale. Oddly enough the 14S was $15 cheaper than the 12S. I hooked up the Optimate to it and it showed 80%+ charge. I'm gonna let it charge to 100% before I crank it. Not expecting any drama though. The Yuasa 14S was listing, around here, anywhere from $170 -$247. If I get 3yrs out of this one, I'm breaking even. If it goes longer, even better.

Ok, so I guess my battery was in worse shape than I thought. Definitely an audible difference when it cranks now. Sounds stronger, screen doesn't go blank, and it starts quicker. Now, I'll just see how long it lasts. You'll be very happy with that battery. . . .
