Had a new Michelin Anakee Adventure installed on the front replacing the previous MAA I had installed 2 years ago.
I had about 8K miles on the MAA I replaced, it was nice and evenly worn with probably another 1-2K miles that could have been
squeezed out but I wanted a new tire for the rest of the season.
A new valve stem was also installed. The old one was the original and was beginning to look a bit dried out.
Checked all the spokes front and back and they were all still nice and snug from the last time I inspected them in the Summer of '19
when I had to tighten/torque a few on the back wheel only.
Amazing. I have to adjust my spokes at EVERY oil change, they don’t settle in. One day, they will snap.

My neighbor with the 'Wing, and I went for a ride to breakfast. He hears my bike start up, and tells me "you need to get a new battery". It both amused me, and pissed me off at the same time. He didn't say it as a question, and it never crossed his mind that he was wrong. He was using his bike as a comparison. The Gold Wing obviously has a different starter than the Tenere. The Honda sounds very fast. Mine sounds the same now as it did when I got it.

Which made me wonder if some of the buys here just thought they needed a new battery, because of the way the Tenere cranks. I got mine new, so I knew it was supposed to sound like this. But, if you got your Tenere used, and your previous bike cranked like the Gold Wing, it would definitely cause you concern.

Got the clamps in so I could refit my barkbuster storms on the new pro taper bars. I'm in love with the way they feel, sit me more upright and a lot more neutral.

Also got a set of Moose Racing ADV1 bags that I want to try since I hesitate to run my Bumot Defenders in any off-road context. I've never fit soft panniers to the bumot racks, so it's going to be an exercise in making sure I get it right. But for $130, I can't be too mad if they're not perfect.

New front tire and brake pads. Sure would be nice if these calipers came with boots on the pistons. They look horrible. Im sure they will give me trouble at some point. All my bikes that dont have boots eventually do. The trail wing tires feel great on the road! Had a couple big storms here and getting in and out to my house is a bit more difficult on these tires.

elricfate :

You might want to take a look at your Diff, looks like its leaking. If its coming out the vent, maybe to much oil. If its coming out the seal, needs to be replaced.
I appreciate you trying to help me. What you're seeing is a lack of dust on the pumpkin in a spot that I already previously wiped. I didn't wipe the dust off the whole pumpkin just that one spot.

I changed the diff oil, then I went for a very long ride, then I came back and wiped off the diff fluid that had flowed down from the bottom where the drain plug still had a couple drops back and to the side, because wine was pushing it that way.

Trust me, it's not leaking.
