Today the last damaged parts after the tip over in the fall got replaced.Today I picked my T12 up.
It had tipped over after a friendly bloke backed his car into it while it was parked in front of my gym.
The OEM crash bar did a fair job. It protected the engine and radiator from damage - but not from several scratch marks all over the left side of the bike: Mirror, handguard, clutch lever, side fairing, side stand, centerstand, front and rear foot pegs, rear foot rest/exhaust bracket.
Besides that the rear fender and license plate will be replaced (that's where the car hit the bike)
The bike runs fin and all of it is superficial damage, but as the other guys insurance will cover it, everything with even the smallest scratch will be replaced. This will be a good opportunity to upgrade from OEM to Barkbusters handguards.

Besides replacing scratched up parts the insurance money paid for a couple of upgrades.

Last month I replaced my 8 years old Zümo 660 with a new Zümo XT.
I've been using TT lockable GPS mounts for years and love them. I mounted one for the XT:

My 660 has been great but it's time for a replacement. Was going to buy an XT at Christmas but decided to wait until lockdown ends, no point wasting the warranty with it sitting in the garage not going anywhere!Great piece of kit the new Zumo.

Have only fiddled with the XT for a couple of weeks and still need to really put it through its paces, but so far I'm impressed. Great screen (the first one from Garmin), works much faster than any previous Zümo with a bunch of nice and useful features. My 660 has been great but it's time for a replacement. Or, at least what passes for premium. In America ?
Still to see one in the flesh but it certainly looks very good, actually thinking about it there may be sense in getting one now so I can learn its features before getting to use it on the road. Will habe to look at a Touratech mount also as I've become used to not worrying about my 660 and I'm bound to leave the XT on the bike for someone to have away.Have only fiddled with the XT for a couple of weeks and still need to really put it through its paces, but so far I'm impressed. Hi Superraid! Finally and thanks to Deftoner, fitted my hand guard extenders, fitted some handguard protectors from Hepco and Becker at the same time, shame were still not allowed to ridee else I'd give a report on how the extenders work at speed, soon though hopefully will be back out on the road.View attachment 76876View attachment 76878View attachment 76879
VISION XHi Superraid!
I saw the little lights you have attached in the engine protection bars, can you share info regarding them!! I like them to be small and helps to be seen.
Thanks, have a nice day!
That looks great. What I don't like with OEM cap is that when open it's still kind of in the way. It's a small pain to maneuver the nozzle down between the open cap and my GPS mounted at the center of the handlebar. I even looked at reversing the cap so it would swing forward, but it won't fit that way. If it weren't for the bulky vapor recovery jackets around all the nozzles we have in CA, this would be no big deal, but as it is it's a PITA. With a removable cap like that I'd have a much easier approach.I got bored the other week, decided I wanted to do something for the bike, but what. Poke around on facebook, see a marketplace ad for an Oberon fuel cap kit, figure what the hell. Who knew it was coming from @Top Ten? Not me. - Got here on Thursday morning, installed by Thursday evening. For me it's not about the look, even though I REALLY like the look, because I have a Wolfman Rainier I keep over the top of the tank anyway. But now I don't have to futz with taking the keys out of the ignition and gingerly opening the cap so they don't scrape on the tank.

I removed the ballbearing in the vapour recovery on my Terra. POS minimal recovery at best. That looks great. What I don't like with OEM cap is that when open it's still kind of in the way. Hi, my lights are small legs brought off ebay, I made ten of these lights at once and had some components at home, you will need some M6 bolts and nuts but main components are below from ebay.Hi Superraid!
