put down a deposit today on a 2015 ES.....

If it wasn't for the rain that stopped the test rides for the day, my blue one might now be red. Good choice on a 15 ES ::008::

Rewired the power outlet. Apparently, the prior owner had cut the wires - I assume to hard wire in something. That was a nice surprise when I went to charge my phone on a trip and it didn't work.

Not today but will throw this out there . . .

I have the medium Pyramid Plastics windscreen and the lower edges come right down to the turn signals. The edges of the windscreen would glow orange from the turn signals, just like it was a fiber-optic cable with a light at one end. I scotch-brited, masked, and painted the tops of the turn signals and the windscreen no longer lights up. Guess I could have used black tape, but this was fast, easy, and worked like a charm.

What did I do today with my Super T? Dropped it off at the shop after hitting a deer broadside at 60mph in WV coming home from BYOB....Hardest hit I ever experienced on a bike...never went down and rode another 300 miles home.. Tuff bike.

Damn! Glad it worked out well for you. You make my informal (completely non-scientific) survey of high speed deer strikes on a Tenere come out to 75% of the time the rider never went down.

Glad you're ok.

Speaking of deer strikes, worked on my deer strike replacement bike this evening.

Installed a 25L Caribou top case. First time I'll ever ride with a top case bolted to my Tenere. DM has always had one, but I refused. Didn't want to make the bike top heavy. We'll see how I like it. All the talk of side cases breaking legs off road spooked me a bit. Since I'm going with a heavier skid plate, I suspect I'll find myself deeper off road on the Tenere now.

Also installed the winglets. Was shocked to call Romney on Tuesday and they said they had 'em in stock. If only I would have asked when I was there 4 days earlier. ::010::

Bike is slowly taking shape. I have the ACD place in hand, and Alt Rider bars sitting in the barn. I may put the the bars on soon, but plate will wait until at least the first oil change, which should happen by the end of the weekend.

I've read that if you get one right at the last rib or two you can cut one in half... ::26::

A real mountain man would strap it across the back, take it home, whip out his buck knife to butcher it, and have it for dinner.

Seriously - Glad you are OK!

I try to leave the top box somewhere if going off pavement and it does make a difference. When I loaded the bike in the truck last night both the windshield and top box were off. I know the windshield adds zero weight but the bike just seemed so much smaller and easier to move around.

4500 miles in about two months, still smiling and spending money on accessories. ::003::

I did this yesterday but just got a chance to post it on here.
Rode my son-in-law to Kansas City and he rode home on a 2012 Blue Tenere with only 1,800 miles on it. ::012::

Installed Altrider Body Guards. Was good to have help with the installation. The fit for the 2015 is better than the 2012. More room around the side panels.

Rox risers are next ::001::
