That was damn quick. What happened to waiting, and shopping... ::008:: ::008:: ::26::
Who did I think I was kidding?

Actually the insurance company came through in a much bigger way than I ever anticipated...far bigger. For those of you with Progressive, good choice. I dropped the crashed bike off at Romney they gave me a huge "THANK YOU" for having Progressive. They said Progressive is the easiest to deal with. After totaling two bikes in 5 years on the same policy, they easy from the customer side, too. I was curious what they would do to me when putting the next bike on the policy. No problem, the increase is what you would expect for adding a newer bike.

Nice new scoot DD. Look fwd to riding with her this Fall in WV sometime if we can make scheds match up.

My "what I did..."

I changed the spark plugs for the first time - an easy 1hr project. Old plugs looked OK with minimal carbonization on them but at nearly 20K miles, I figured it was time. While under the tank, I cleaned out the throttle bodies, cleaned the air filter (that had been recently replaced), and then finally used my Harmonizer Tool to balance the throttle bodies. It was a nice couple of hours in the garage while it rained outside.

Not a total but... I dropped my 2012 and added the 2015 ES and the increase was $28.

I am using Progressive because that is what AAA is using for motorcycles. Now I know why AAA is using them.

Rode out to an aboriginal rock engraving site. Som very challenging riding - Sand, mud, rocks and gravel with some very steep ascents and descents along with a few creek crossings thrown in for good measure.

My thighs are still burning from the ride, about 70km of off-roading.

Broke in a new pair of Gaerne G-Adventure boots which were great very comfortable with lots of grip both on and off the bike. I also feel like I took my off roading skill to a new level with a few lessons learnt and also putting into practice some techniques I've picked up from various sources.

Getting ready for a 3K mile trip in August. Today, changed the plugs (they still looked good), and the air filter. Mounted a rigid 6" under the light, and most of the wiring for it. Just waiting for the relay from Eastern Beaver. New tires next week, and will do the oil the week after. Then she should be ready.

+1 on Progressive insurance. My wife crashed her Harley a couple of years ago (lucky she ended up with just some bruises), and they totaled the bike. We got a lot more for the bike then we could have sold it for ourselves. No hassle, pleasant to wok with.

TechSpec-USA could help with the thighs. http://techspec-usa.com/magento/index.php/motorcycles/yamaha/super-tenere.html
LOL, I'm pretty sure it's a muscle burn. 40 miles off road treats the big muscles in the thighs like you've climbed a really tall building's worth of stairs. Grips are great, should be on every off road machine, doesn't help the big shock absorbers in the thighs though. :(
Now, as the burn lightens a bit, do it again! Then again! ::26:: ::26::

After 1,750 miles, 6 Countries, countless Alpine passes & a rendezvous with Dogdaze and his two delightful daughters in Liechtenstein myself & Littledave rode the short distance home from the North Shields ferry. My S10 is so dirty it may never be clean again ! I averaged 50.5 mpg for the trip which is impressive considering some of the passes we climbed and the speeds we got up to on the Autobahn's of Germany. Roll on next time ::008::

If you click on the link below you'll see myself and Littledave in action on the Stelvio Pass, just scroll through the pics. I'm on the white(ish) one.

Hey Bry (and Little Dave) welcome back! Glad you guys had a good trip. I went on a small jaunt today too, up the Fluelapass to Zernez, St. Moritz, Chiavenna, to Splugen and back home, 450km.

just outside St Moritz

What mounts are you using to hold your Piaa's to your altrider bars?

Added aa 2 slot USB Socket (Green LED when on) Blue Sea Power Socket to my 2014 S10 ES.

(Left side OEM rail used step drill to mount socket)

Connected it to an Eastern Beaver 3 circuit fuse block.

Used 5 Amp fuse
I did the exact same mod, I used the exact same USB socket, I used a Step drill for the hole. The only thing I did different was I run the wiring through some braided sheathing which makes the wiring blend right in with the rest of the wiring on the bike and look completely stock

I just woke up from a nights sleep and that old adage "that's gonna hurt in the morning" couldn't be truer! :'(

Think I am going to invest in some pivot pegz, as the bottom of my feet is a bit sore i assume from the small contact patch with the pegs when getting hips forward in front of them. Also the stock pegs with the rubbers removed fills with muds easily as it can't fall through.

I think the key is to work on my physical fitness, I'm a big guy and also returning from a bad accident last year that put me in hospital for 6 months.

Successfully modified my Wasp windscreen adjuster to work with the 2015 model bike. Fortunately it just took drilling two holes.
