I installed two Aurora, 2" LED, 40w, 3200 Lumen Cube lights. One uses a flood pattern and the other has a spot pattern with a longer reach. Mounting was easy. I cut and drilled an aluminum plate that mounted to the holes already under the headlights. The Aurora lights came with pivoting mounting brackets that I bolted to the aluminum plate. The wiring took more time connecting things to my Eastern Beaver PC-8 and then making the multiple connections to the Skene relay/dimmer. The Skene directions were good though and things worked the very first time.

Using the Skene IQ-175 dimmer and a simple on-off switch I end up with three light power settings.

The Skene dimmer acts as a relay with one lead tapped into the high beam pink wire in the lighting harness. When the high beam is activated, the LEDs are powered at 100%. On the low beam setting there are two dimmed modes, 10% and 20%. These modes are activated from an off-on switch and are configurable in increments of 10% so you could go 10% and 50% if you wanted. (Or any other combination…)

At 10%, the lights serve to make the bike more visible acting as daytime running lights. At 20% (with switch on) the lights working with the low beams supply fill light that won't blind oncoming drivers. With the high beam, things get pretty bright with 6400 additional lumens of light.

Cost was $178 for the two lights (eBay) and $60 for the Skene dimmer.

Mounted a set of Conti Trail Attack 2s. These replace 1.5 sets of K60's that gave 20K miles of excellent service. As much as I like the K60, I have to admit that an 85/15 radial is more closely aligned with my actual riding. They're good enough to be OEM for BMW R1200GS and KTM 1190 Adventurer. I hope they suit me because I tend to get about 12,000 miles from a rear tire.

I have some room to move them up a little higher if needed. They are in the same location as the Yamaha PIAA lights. The way they are mounted, if the fender ever came up that high, the lights would hinge up higher as opposed to breaking off. I have them just tight enough to hold them in place so I can adjust aim as needed. I'll let you know if it's a problem after some rides planned in a few weeks!

Installed the factory heated grips.

Took me about two hours. I had a hard time getting the wire on the throttle side to wind smoothly other than that it was rather easy.

This weekend Altrider crash bars are going on.

Hope you remembered putting a dab of grease on the wires, as called for in the instructions.

Applied touch up paint to the lower water pump guard on my Rumbux bars (so glad I invested in real protection and not bike jewelry). Smoothed out the rash on the corner of my Pelican side case (plastic rules on this bike).

Seemed I saw fit to throw my baby down on a gravel bar in a creek near the house. During the picking up procedure I got a little over zealous and the kick stand was not deployed, so I managed to flip it over on the other side.

It was yesterday, but.... picked her up form dealer for warranty repair of rear drive seal failure - the seal around the socket where the rear wheel splines engage (not sure of "actual" name).

Then I left her at home and put the WRR on the trailer for a 5day trip to WV.

Would you happen to have a pic of the bracket? I have two Rigid Industries that I would like to do something similar with.

I knew I should have taken some photos. The bracket is just a flat piece of 1/8" aluminum just wide enough to fit over the two open bolt holes under the headlight. I'd say it's about 6 inches wide and about 3 inches tall. I drilled the holes so that it would slide up in there and lay flat against the plastic base the holes were in. Then I made it just tall enough to mount the pivoting mounts included with the lights. So it's just a flat rectangle of aluminum with two holes for bolting to the bike and two holes for the light mounts. No bending or fancy cutting required. Four stainless bolts with locking nuts and it was all done.

Installed the PiAA 530 driving under the headlights with the '14 cover (grill) IMO, it went from unfinished to complete.

yesterday, August 8th, rode 4 1/2 hours in torrential rain with a smattering of hail... I didn't understand at the time why the cars were pulling off to the shoulder...
saw one black ST heading west, opposite to me, on the Trans Canada, somewhere between 22 and Scott Lake Hill...
two days ago, August 7th, ago rode BC 6, which has fresh tarmac on the twistiest part of the twisties between Monashee Pass and Fauquier,
all sunshine, no traffic, no RCMPolice, no darting animals...
saw a black ST loading from BC 23 onto the ferry at Shelter Bay...
three days ago, August 6th, took a picture of Mount Robson.....
