For those keeping score at home, I hit 117k miles today coming back from Angeles Crest Hwy. Feeling happy with the newly installed HyperPro progressive springs, front and back.View attachment 86040
Love that area..... Lot of years enjoying those roads on the 2. Hate not having Newcs to visit. Great colors on that.

Recently went through my forks for seals.... Wish Id of swapped the springs out.

Ridden to work through torrential rain every day for the last two weeks so I thought I’d better give her a bit of TLC today. So washed and dried and then liberal coating of ACF 50 applied with a compressor spray gun. Now she’s ready for when they start salting the roads..

My right side headlight was burned out. Ordered an OEM replacement bulb from Rocky Mountain ATV. Went to remove the back bulb cover and realized it's a cyclops LED :(
Didn't like the light output anyway. Took some wiggling, but I managed to replace it with the stock light. :)

If it were me, I'd order another OE bulb. I don't know that it would cause any issues, but there's going to be a large voltage differential between the "regular" bulb, and the LED. I always replace bulbs in pairs anyway.

I honestly didn't even consider that. I did ride the bike yesterday, without issue. Notwithstanding, the OEM bulb wasn't inexpensive. I think in the future I'll look for cheaper aftermarket halogen replacements.

Nice solid base. Are the slots the anchor points, or for the straps to pass through to the anchor points?

Oil and filter changed today. 3500 miles on the old oil motul 7100 going back in. Just starting to lose its bright red colour and no nasty signs of metal filings etc. changed the final drive oil too. Bit more grey this time. Replaced with Motul HD 80/90 this time. Bit of muck stuck to the magnet too.

I put on a T Rex skid plate about a month ago and the sounds that resonate from down there sounded like a B-17 taking flak over Berlin. So I took off the plate and insulated it with some Kilmatt sound damping material. it really makes a huge difference. The picture does not show the finished product. Also I drilled some holes in the front for some air flow. Much better and tomorrow we ride!

I wouldn’t worry about a skid plate blocking air to the engine. After all most engines sit directly behind a hot radiator and do just fine.
