I did nothing, 1st of April and still have not ridden since mid-October :'(
Its all tig welded 100% and yes I remove the plate for oil changes. Its 4 bolts and with the ABBA Skylift that I have ( heavily modified ) its a breeze. I would like to think that I do some serious riding, but I don't, I just like to have a well equipped bike. I do take the bike off road, and sometimes finding the best place to camp has some rough terrain. I had an ACD skid plate and it is really only good for dirt roads. I have had it off multiple times to hammer it back into shape.Flat lander said:Wow. You must do some serious ridding. Will it be welded together or are you using a metal brake? I guess you plan on removing it for oil changes. I also like your lift. Who makes that. I have something similar that i made? I copied the Easy Lift it uses a acme threaded rod. Haven't got around to make brackets for my s10 yet but it works great for my fz1.

Bought the connectors off of Easter Beaver, then added 10cm of cable. Extension is about 12cm total once plugged in
Made my RRR Tools riser +Raptor Bar more usable now.
Thank You!

Yeah I still get wind coming off the side but it is clean air now instead of turbulence. Not sure how the spoiler helped with that but it is nice. Riding with my cheap HJC yesterday and today so look forward to trying it with my new Shoei which is supposed to be quieter. I'll check out your profile and windscreen solution as well. Maybe it can be even better!ace50 said:For the price, that's a great solution.
It still doesn't address the fact that the S10 requires a narrow windshield, you always get side winds blowing in on you.
(how often do you get perfect air to ride in?)
Rode to work last week, going home it was very breezy! My unconventional wide shield did outstanding!
Looks great! Where'd you get it? I've looked around a little but haven't been able to find that design...Nikolajsen said:Put some scratch protection on the tank.
And hope to get on the road in about 14 days. (if we are a bit lucky, they have put the last salt on the road, but we need rain to wash it away)
Yes, all attachments were removed, stripped down to only the aluminum plate before powder coating. I was worried the coating might interfere with the latching mechanism.Super08 said:I have been thinking about doing the same with mine. Did you remove the latch post at the rear before coating?
I think that is green slime unless I am mistaken. I know some folk put that in their tires just in case they get a puncture. In theory it would self seal without going flat. Not sure if it works though.BWC said:Previous owner had installed some type of tire balance liquid which makes a hell of a mess on a change out.
I use this www.bikeseal.co.ukWJBertrand said:The trouble with using any kind of goop inside your tires is that if you get a hole too big for the goop to handle, it can interfere with the adhesion of a plug or patch that would normally work in the absence of the goop. Also, if you've installed a TPMS system, most manufacturers recommend not using goop, beads etc.
