Installed my Denali D2's this afternoon. Not a bad install even my stupid no electrical butt can do it. I used the positap connectors into high and low beam function. This board was an immense help with pictures and all, many thanks to the posters that took the time to spell it out for us ignorant types. I have not rode with them yet. Too many deer and I have had 3 beers already. Tomorrow evening I spot them in. The harness is heavy duty and was a mile long. I struggled hiding all that wire behind right panel.

BTW you cannot or at least I could not remove left panel with Givi crash bar in place but you can let it hang enough to get at tank bolt. Not a deal killer it's only 3 small bolts if you remove the bar.
I do like the look of the Denali 2 lights. Looks like they are mounted to the fork tubes which would be good for the night blind me. Very interested the performance of the lights. Also like the looks of the Givi guards.

Finally installed my zumo 550. Used the 12V outlet as the temporary power source. Connected using Posi-Taps. Will eventually remount near the windshield and connect to a fuse block.

Found the Posi-Lock products at NAPA and then found motorcycle kits available at webBikeWorld.com

Put my grip puppies on today. Really a no brainer for most everyone. Less vibration and forearm pump.

Pulled a two inch nail out of my 400 mile rear tire and plugged it. Perfect plug and even thought I have a new rear battle wing on the way ($114), I might run this for a while. Checked my rear spokes and a-ok thus far.

Took off my muffler and weighed it. 13 pounds.

Replaced it with an Akrapovic after weighing it. 8 pounds. I lost over 5 lbs today!

I kept the shield and passenger pegs off for now. Never ride two up, don't need the extra few pounds and much, much prefer the looks of the new titanium Akra sans pegs too.

Just road round the block to check for leaks and if anything fell off. No time to review yet.

how about some pics, both sides

I rode the s10 about 300 miles in 40 degree rain and had a blast. The ABS and the TC add to the peace of mind. Hope to do about 300 or so tomorrow as well but need to do some work first.

Took a few pics of the Denali's at night. Keep in mind them being LED's you cannot point a camera straight on or it wil totally freak out. First pic is 50' away and lights are on LOW.

Second pic is up the road, two lane and dark, I stepped off center about 20' from center at maybe 30' from bike lights on HIGH.

As you can see they are bright. When on high I am flashed heavily by oncoming motorist to dim. That used to never happen with oem high beams. They are so bright I am having trouble setting the alignment because one slip and you look into them by accident and it is similar to looking at the sun. Spots for 5-10!minutes.

Lights are mounted via SW Motech brackets attached to the 4 holes under the headlight. Slick setup! Clean and easy install.

At idle there is a stronger, deeper "pulse". At speed not a big difference really. Maybe 5 decibels louder at most and a bit deeper. I ride with a full helmet and ear plugs (even around the block) so full report pending several hundred miles with pictures pending as well.

I really prepared to do a before and after sound video for youtube regarding the muffler but was like a kid in a candy store and slapped the new one on. It was very, very simple fyi. I guess I could get a side by side with someone without an Akrapovic.?.

5db is actually quite a difference, but whatever the value is it seems that most people say the Akra is not much louder than OEM. In my neighborhood thats worth its weight in gold, so I'll pony up for the Akra when I'm ready for a slip-on :)

Did the recall. Actually that was yesterday, not today. The dealer has done seven bike now. Only one has not been twisted. According to the mechanic my was one of the worst he's seen, but it still never leaked.

This is the first time I've had a motorcycle into a shop in for many, many years. It was really nice to drop it off, go to lunch and return with the work all done. I'd much rather ride than wrench, but I can't beat the price of doing it all myself.

Here you go...see attached pictures. I presumed you did not want pictures of the grip puppies ;)

also, for anyone who installed a slip on exhaust and did not go back to check the bolt at its attachment after 50 miles or so, go back and tighten it even if you used a torque wrench.

Went for a ride as it was a balmy 42 degrees when I left. Had to test out the new Madstad bracket, things are definitely a little quieter and less turbulent but going to take more time to decide if i ditch the stock screen. I love having the GPS front and center!

I wired in a coax connector for my heated gear. I almost threw the cover on it but I could not bring myself to do it just yet! Might get another ride in before the snow flies!

Your Akro sounds stock. What advantage is there to its install. Wish there was an exhaust that would sound a little deeper and not poppy.

You/we need a side by side comparision. Its a bit deeper and a bit louder. No 'poppy' at all.

Saved 5 lbs, cleans up the torque curve and adds 3.4hp per Akrapovic website. For me, it helps the rough spot/stumble at 2500-3000 rpm. See the dyno graphic comparision on the akrapovic website. http://www.akrapovic.com/motorcycle-exhaust/products/yamaha/model/super-tenere-2010/slip-on-0306e07e9a/

It is only the first step as I usually get a K&N filter and add a PCV to all of my cycles.
