All documented and sent off, now planning on SS2400
Awesome! Three weeks ago I did a SS1000 & BB1500 on a quick weekend trip to the Los Angeles area. Both documented and sent off already! Summer '14 plans have a Border to Border and SS2000 on the same run...

I got the ECU back from AF1 today. There can be no debate on it whether or not there is a significant power increase. It does for sure. The big difference is in the first three gears. Now it will hit the red line before you can blink.

The reflash may not be for everyone. If I was going to use the ST for the same thing I used my last Wing for, rolling down the highway for miles on end at 80mph doing the long distance thing, then the reflash would be a waste of money.

If you ride mostly on dirt and gravel roads, the reflash may cause as many problems as it fixes. Too much power can be trouble in the wrong place. YMMV

For the kind of riding I like to do now, it will be perfect. I like to get on roads similar to the Dragon down at Deals Gap and play in the curves. I think the reflash will work well busting from curve to curve in the 30 to 70 mph range. I only put ten miles on it today, but I'm sure I'm going to like it. The $450 was a tough nut to crack, but what the hell, if I keep the bike for four years, it works out to about $9 per month. That makes it sound better anyway.

That's the beauty of having ride modes. You should be able to get a flash that has modes suitable for each application.

My commute to school is before the sun comes up, and my commute home is usually after the sun goes down, so I decided to add some extra lights from ADVMonster.com . I think they turned out great.

Lights look great!

Gotta ask, what's that you've got parked next to the Tenere there?

It has been -20 C here this week so being a bit bored I redid my heated grip wiring for the second time. Here is the chronology

Phase 1 - just taped up the wiring connectors with all the extra wire and zip tied it to the handlebar mounts. It was a big ugly mess.

Phase 2 - I tidied things up a bit by getting rid of the bulky connectors but still suffered from multiple connectors at the same point in the wiring harness adding unsightly bulk. I posted this a couple days ago

Phase 3 - two photos of the finished product with the wiring slimmed down, heat shrink wrapped, taped and covered in a flexible loom.

Now with the weather expected to remain miserably cold for a while I am going to have to find some other things to tinker with on the bike.

Cheers, David

They match the bike very well. What are you using for attatchment to the frames?

I ordered these a few weeks ago, http://www.ebay.com/itm/140598833270?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 . The install was pretty easy, although you do have to cut the wires and splice them in. Once installed I found that the led signals flashed too quickly, I did some research and found a flasher relay that took care of the issue. The relay is from CustomLED, unit was just under $25 shipped, simple plug and play. I'll try to post pictures if anyone is interested, the signals fit perfectly and look fantastic. I haven't changed the fronts just yet, but will let you know if that creates an issue for the relay, apparently all LED signals can occasionally cause the signals to flash simultaneously

Adding a resistor in line will address the speed at which they flash.

I looked at resistors, I thought I'd need one for each turn signal, the relay worked out cheaper

A bit cool, yes. -42c (-44f) with the wind chill factored in, but at least the sun is shining. ;)
Absolute MADNESS!

It was 81F here today, but there was a touch of 'cool' in the breeze - had to dig out a long sleeve t-shirt to wear. Brrr... :)

Just finished making panniers out of a couple Nave ammo cans. Designed my own racks. Hope the pictures down load.
I am interested in what cans those are and the mounting brackets. I like the volume and looks.
