The rain has started. It might be time to put new rubber like Dunlop 607s on those hoops or is it more of an excuse to go play on grimy fire roads with my TKCs?
The latter, obviously!

Well it wasn't exactly today, but I did get my rear wheel back from Woody's.

Nice heavy duty spokes and a sealed rim to use tubeless tires.

Testing the rear wheel. ;) :)

So far so good. I need to get it into some dirt.

Replaced the plugs with new NGK Iridium plugs, new air filter, and rear brake pads.

Clearly ignoring (or forgetting about) all the rear brake warnings was a mistake on my part. This is how they looked at 14,388 miles. Obviously waaaaayyyy too long.

Heed the warnings. There is no squeal, or or sound to hear. I thought since I usually slow down by going through the gears my will last longer than the others. They may have, but I should have checked them sooner.

My check of the fronts show lots of life remaining.

I heard one of those metal tits touching the rotor one day while backing the bike out of the garage, same miles.

Breathed new life into my heated grips by replacing the flimsy heat controller ( Oxford type) with a PWM LED dimmer . Nice to have warm hands again now the winds blowing down from the Arctic.

Moved the bike into it's new home today, and installed the battery charging leads.

Now the bike is hooked up to the Optimate 4.

Performing 26K mile service, valve check, second change of spark plugs. Everything is good, now to get that valve cover and new gasket back in there. Talking tight quarters up there, even had to unbolt the brake junction block in front of the engine to make more room with the brake lines. Oil drain to pull the clutch cover, but will re-use the oil as it is only 2K or so old.

P.S. Getting it back together with gaskets was a PITA. Not enough room vertically, must try and glue the sparkplug hole gaskets to the head and then get them all aligned while trying to set the heat in. Might consider the dealer for next major, getting too old for this stuff.

Just had Romney change my tires this last Friday. My rear pads, at 9.5k miles were pretty thin. I have set of pads at home, I'll be switching them out this week or weekend, depending on my work load.

I'll definitely head the warning! I really don't want to replace my rotor, just yet.

Interesting on the pads. I have almost 28,000 miles and still on the originals, they are little over half worn out. I must not stop much! ::013::

Decided to paint my H&B bashplate with bed liner. Etched it with aluminum cleaner and sprayed one light coat (just enough to cover) as this stuff is heavy, LOL. Now to wait about 24 hours before mounting.

Popped off the front wheel and brought it inside cause there is 8 inches of snow out there and its cool in the garage. Going to apply the new blue wheel stripes tomorrow. One wheel at a time. May wait on the rear wheel as I have to spoon on a new Anakee 2 at the same time. Drained the FD fluid and filled with new stuff. Fast, easy and cheap insurance, so do it often. ::001::

It was 82 Fahrenheit today in Mesa, Az. That's "Nice freaking riding weather" in Celsius.

Yea, well it was 70 degrees F here a week or so ago. Rode my ass off. This will melt off by next week and it'll be in the 50s, so will get out a few more times. ::26::

Mounted the SR 90661 LED auxiliary light. Just some minor grinding for the mounts to clear some plastic. Drilled 3/4" hole in dash on left side opposite the 12v plugin for the switch. Cut and spliced wiring as it was way too long. Tied into the Auxiliary plug for power after the engine starts. Nice find for the guys that started the SR thread, thanks.

23C 73 Fahrenheit, Indian Summer tomorrow here too, then we'll go back to the other Summer again.

Tiger_one, nice Job, I see a a gallon of Motul in your garage, do you use Motul? which one? I've been using Motul 7100, but wondering if more Tenere owners use the same oil as me .
