Just back from a ride to the Red Woods, 1675 milles. MPG went from a stuck 46.7 to 49. 5 days in the seat and my @$$ is fine ::001::

Back from Star Days in Colorado. Around 2500 miles Saturday to Saturday. No problems slab there or back. Had fun on the dirt and gravel while there. Deer and I had an encounter without any problems, but I need more lights for the dark!

Used to be on my road bikes I would pucker up on gravel. Would do short rides to get to a meal, or a winery but did not like it and did 15-30 MPH tops. The Sunday after I got back went to hear some friends play music at a winery. About 5 miles of gravel. Realized the people I was leading were way behind so I looked down and I was going 50! Amazing.

Put the Mitas E07 on at 4K and now have more than 11K on the bike (bought new in October last year) they have lots of life left. Will get at least 10K out of whichever tire wears out first.

If I am going to a bike night, or Daytona Bike Week, or something like that, I will take the show bike. But most other places the Ténéré is what goes. Love the ride!

Cannot wait for the Arkansas rally in a month or so.

Hi all.
Have had my 2015 S10 for just over a week. Have done 1200kms and just had first service done.
First impressions, what a very nice bike. Very comfortable, did 650 kms 2 days ago and no issues at all. Have had to be very gentle with the throttle as still running in but just put her in S mode and a big difference in performance. Need to get the next 400kms done so I can play. Handles well, suspension very nice.
My only 2 complaints are the damn gear indicator, WTF were Yamaha thinking fitting that type . Also being unable to change the temperature displays from F to C. The bike is being sold in Thailand which is a Metric country.
2 very minor complaints overall. I expect I will get used to the gear indicator and just ignore the temperature readouts.
Having just moved from a 2 year old Ducati Multistrada that had all sorts of issues, this does appear at first ride to be very well made and more comfortable.

Here's a couple of pics, one still in the shipping frame and the other just as she was finished and ready for collection.

I'm completely won over!

My recent history (this year) I started the year on my old faithfull XJR 1300 but had been hankering for something a little more touring biased. I had always liked the look of the S10 but was seduced by the MT09 Tracer (FJ09) I bought a new one but knew fairly soon it was the wrong choice for me, this was despite a long test ride, but I stuck with it until at about 1000 miles a nice lady  knocked me off it and caused £3,000 worth of damage and plenty of bumps and bruises.

Whilst the bike was off the road being repaired my dealer got in an S10 world crosser so I took it for a ride and knew straight away I liked it but after the previous experience I knew I couldn't be sure until I had clocked up a few miles. Sure enough after a couple of thousand miles I had a few doubts about the S10, the truth be told I think the neck pain I was suffering from, which was caused initially by the accident but made worse by the big sweep back on the stock bars was clouding my judgement! I kept reading posts on here saying it's a bike that grows on you and boy does it ever !! A change of bars and 6,000 miles (including one 2300 mlie trip) later and I'm in love !

So to anyone experiencing any doubts or considering buying a S10 - If you have one stick with it will get you in the end. And if your thinking of buying one.........just buy one !!!

Just got home from a three state ride over 7 days. Lots of great roads, with some gravel roads and one extreme offroad section, 24 miles of rock, roots, silt, ruts, and even water. After 2,300 miles on this trip, and completing the wicked section of the Barlow Road over Mount Hood, I have decide this is the WORLD'S BEST MOTORCYCLE -- PERIOD. I've got over 9,300 miles on it now, and it just keeps impressing me more and more. ::022::

Flipped 4K last week. Had it 3 months today. A lot smoother now.

Love the T/S mode. Mainly ride in T cause its much smoother and you get the rush of the S mode when you need/want it, feels like a different bike.

If you stay in S mode all the time, you just get use to it. ::26::

The S mode still has that annoying off idle lag too. Haven't been able to fix it, I guess the reflash is the only option. :'(

I have yet to hit the rev limiter. I'm all stock and it seems like flat power above 5K rpm's. Does a exhaust can help it flow much better? Not gonna pay for a full exhaust even though that would open it up.

I dunno, I have the Yosh and it seems to pull up to redline, possibly dropping off just before it hits.
