I had one of these on during a torrential rain storm that did not let up - this was riding non-stop through heavy rain from Kansas City to central Illinois. Phone did not see so much as a drop on it. I, on the other hand, was soaked neck-to-toe, despite wearing full rain gear.
The phone's touch screen is still functional in the case, and I could even work it with my thinner summer leather gloves on.
