Bracket suggestions? Want to mount my smart phone (currently a nexus 5) so I can use the gps and access my music. I know there are tons of them out there, and didn't want to just take a shot in the dark.

Ditto for OldRiders setup. I used to back my Samsung Galaxy S4 (in Otterbox) up with a cord backup, but I have never had it so much as move in the Xgrip and that includes all the times I have let my Superten take a dirtnap. I have it mounted side-by-side with my GPS. I like the position as it does not bounce around as much as it did when I had the stuff mounted to my Madstad crossbar above the cluster.

I use the Touratech iBracket for my iPhone. I have one for for my bike and one for the XT.
Very rigid design, vibration dampers and stainles steel.

Howdy,
Sat. night, just got in from work and have had a few. :) So, my question, since my I phone is an enabled hot spot can I mount say a small tablet to get the bigger screen advantage in using GPS? Have the tablet talk to my phone in my pocket and visa versa. Not sure in what I would need to run for software/settings, so looking for any input on that point too. Thinking of using the Ram X mount to mount the tablet which looks like it should work. Second question any suggestions for a waterproof case for the tablet?
Later,
Norm

I see no reason you wouldn't get the proper internet throughput you are looking for. But many GPS apps use the GPS antenna on the mobile device. And, if you have an app that lets you download the map(s) and store them locally, the internet isn't really playing a role in tracking.
This is all a GOOD thing if you are traveling in remote areas and there is no cell signal. Pretty cool to see where you are at in Big Bend. :)

Howdy,
So can I have all the software/storage needed on my tablet and use the GPS antenna on my I phone to transfer data using my WiFi hot spot regardless of the internet to talk between devices? If not can I just use the tablet to display the data on the my I phone? Kinda like using a monitor with your lap top.

Norm

Huh? Lol
You're a hoot wanderer. Sounds like you are bound and determined to use a combination of devices even if just one will suffice? :)
I thought the "larger" screen was the main consideration. And if so, AND it is equipped with GPS, some software apps will let you store the maps locally. Thus, internet (cellular) access is not needed. (nor the hotspot function)

I use a bicycle handlebar mount that comes with a rain cover. There are many to choose from.
The phone is my music player and I get recharger power for it from the stock aux power port.

::008:: Got to go with this.

I used a mount thinking I'd appreciate the phone's map features, but in the end found it to be sucking the fun out of the ride. Fun meaning spontaneity.
