We’re not allowed to have a pump action unless a primary producer or need it for your job. Licence has to be renewed yearly. As much as I like and trust my Sig, I can't take it a lot of places so between lonely parking lots in the camper van, boat we spend nights on, and an increase in night time home invasions, been thinking about picking up a Winchester Mariner 12 ga 18" barrel for $370. (https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/winchester-sxp-marine-defender-pump-action-shotgun) Can swap barrels to hunt if wanted (I don't) and it reminds me of my Dad's Model 12 Winchester so there's an emotional aspect too. Would prefer the Rem 870 Mariner but it costs a lot more.
See lots of good YT videos and positive Bass Pro/Cabella reviews but then a few individuals mention feed issues when new. Those ought to show up quick if it's one of those guns. Never really was comfortable with how loose Mossbergs feel even though I know it's intentional, see more jamming reports, and it can cost even more than the Remington now.
So anybody here have one?
I just paid about $1,000 for a marine grade straight pull.
