Well for a guy that is looking at a few new and used Tenere's to buy but just can't decide on the "one" now I have to think if I want to wait until spring to see if the 2014 model will have changes and if it'll be worth the wait. After all I have if I'm lucky 2 months of riding left this year. This thread had starting me thinking I needed to pull the trigger on one right away before all of the left overs, demos, for sale by owner found happy owners. ::010::

Re: 2014 Tenere Possible News

I'm gonna try to "merge" this thread with the other larger one of the same topic. I've never done this before and this seems like a good time to try it. So if it goes all kaka, my apologies ahead of time. Bear with me. Hopefully there will be no need for punishment if I screw it up. Stay tuned. R ::001::

OK never mind. I need assistance ... I'll contact Venture for a walk through. More later. R ::010::

Anyone's guess...anything particular you don't like about this current run (if it's even different at all in '14-'15...)?

If not, no reason to wait, IMO.

Come to the Texas Hill Country S-10 ride in March 2014 and we can have that beer celebrating Yamaha's "announcement" of the 2014 model! ::003::

I'm buying! :)

Well... Good, I see all of you very happy!!. This is the longest nonsense post I ever saw ::025::

But after all this happines... what changes is going to do Yamaha in the 2014 model?, few stickers? new colors?. I think if they want to compete with the new KTM, BMW, etc. they need to “refresh” (I said refresh, not change) the bike to attract new buyers.
I hear something about this… to wait to a new model in 2015/2016. We’ll see. ::003::

They obviously would have to make HUGE changes to get you to keep one. :)
Like make it out of Titanium.

Seriously though, I hope they don't chase the BMW or the KTM, since both of them are heading towards Multistrada\Explorer land.
Just stay at the Dirty Big Pig party long enough, and they might be the only Dirty Pig standing.

(I've kinda been brainwashed by Graham. Can you tell?)

If I'm in country during March I will be there. I'm working on a bucket list item ..... to ride Oz and NZ, perhaps Feb-Mar/2014.

Fret not..... I will come to Tx. during 2014 to collect that beer. ::015::

:D :D :D I know...

But I'm not agree with you: The KTM is not heading towards the Multi at all. I tried the R version and is an incredible bike good on and especially off road.
I think it's the best bike in this category ... but it is a KTM... ::)
I don't think Yamaha must change lot of things but if they want to sell the S10 not only via reducing the price they must actualize it a bit.

just to make sure,
I'm going to buy a FZ09 to 'test out the motor' ::015::and keep my 2012.
Unless they stuffed the triple into a new frame, kept the shaft, and dropped a bit of the weight,
there's no reason to get rid of the current bike or uprgrade.

Well, it looks like it's official now...

No 2014 Yamaha Super Tenere for the United States, and apparently not for Canada, either.

Take a really close look at this page...

http://www.yamahamotorsports.com/content/115/yamaha_sport_street_motorcycle_home.aspx

At first it looks like there is a 2014 Super Tenere, but there's not... If you click on each model you will every single model *EXCEPT* the Super Tenere and the FZ8 shows having a 2014 model, while the Super Tenere and FZ8 are both 2013 models.

This does not bode well for there being a 2014 Super Tenere, and could possibly mean dire things for the Super Tenere continuing to be offered in the United States at all in future years.

So glad I got mine... So long Super Tenere... We hardly knew ya'. :(

The Super Tenere is still here.

I bet you feel goofy now.
