I put 600 miles on this weekend with about 300 on the first day with the traction control set to level 2. I did mostly mountain twisties and did not feel that the TC was ever kicking in at any point. At least I never noticed the dash light coming on so I assumed this will be the default setting for me for paved mountain twisties which I usually ride in.

Today, I tried it with Traction Control turned off, and wow what a difference  It seems that it accelerates so much harder and smoother than with TC2. Almost to the point of it being a different fuel map. I was really surprised at the difference it makes on the street. I would have expected a big difference on gravel or dirt, but not on pavement. I just wanted to pass this on as I was pleasantly susprised to see the difference that it makes.

Better buy another rear tire so you have one to replace the one you are spinning. Try a slow rolling start with traction control on 1 in sport mode, go instantly to full throttle in the first three gears and you will see the traction light blink. This rig will either spin the rear wheel or lift the front tire without the traction contol on.

IMHO Turning off TC makes a bigger difference on the dirt than going between S or T mode. I rode for a while on road with TC off and really couldn't tell much difference, but I don't get real heavy on the throttle on road.

I was kinda thinking the same thing.. I'm still in the break in so im not hammering it... When all our bikes are a few months old, can you imagine (S) with traction turned off all the time... This beast is going eat tires for lunch.. LOL Pop wheelies all day... If im in (S) I can feel a difference between 1 & 2... If im in (T) not nearly as much... I have not turned traction off.... Guess I need to try it.... LOL This bike is flat out AWESOME !

This bike is perfect for me, plenty of omph below 4k rpm. That is why me and the Multi butted heads in the beginning, it used to hate below 4k, after the ECU reflash, pretty nice, but nothing like this beast.

Still a pile of fun and a very smooth bike, today was atv ride up montana mountain followed by an evening tenere romp to braeburn for a burger so large that it needs to be shared-you guys will see next juyl!!

I like it off but hate the design of it resetting to on when I switch bike off. So I have been just leaving it in default mode.

As for the wheelies, not much there for that but it's a shaft drive bike which are not known for wheelies to begin with. Goes against the physics of the thing. I can wheelie anything (I have not tried on this thing yet due to breakin) but I can tell you my seat of the pants feeling is this thing ain't going to out wheelie my B-King or DR650. :))

Tried the (S) with traction off.. pretty cool... :p It does feel like it comes on sooner and I don't get that retard timing feeling that I do on 1 & 2 ... Some K60's and this thing in the dirt is going to be ridiculous... "FUN"

Tried this this afternoon on the bike, very interesting the bike comes more alive. Someone said you will go through tires fast they sure are right. When I shifted hard I could feel the rear tire spin a little. The tire was still cold and just wanted to spin, I couldn't get the front up on this bike. My old Vee went up easy this one is a little harded it seems.

I got caught off guard the other day on a snowmobile trail, I had to turn the traction control off because off the mud the bike wasn't going any where with it on..

Same here, my Vee came up pretty easily. Even with TCS off I'm barely getting the wheel to lift. Need more attempts before I give up.

Might be one of the few fun things we have to give up Dirt Dad. I hope not...

Put the girl on the back and the bike lifts the front just fine. :) Be very careful because with TC on the motor backs off some and with TC off it does not. I will be getting a TC off switch or designing one. I can feel HP removal without wheel spin with the TC mode on, on take off and I do not like that. This is a great feature but for me It will be off except on rain days.
I guess I am old school and I want a consistent reaction from the motor and tire for feedback. ;D

Combo, you can switch it off using the button on the left outside edge of the instrument cluster.

I know but would like to be able to defeat the TCS from the bars without turning the motor off and or pushing and holding down buttons. If it would default to the off setting I would be good with it but it does not. :(
