Unless the are deemed illegal by he DOT, I would expect to see them on the Touratech USA site soon.

Very nice. Much cleaner than the other metal protector out there. This I would pay over seas shipping on.
Wow, their web site doesn't have anything north of Mexico on their "ship to" selection.

Yup. If they have an official distro channel in a given country/region, they will not ship you the parts from Germany. I've got the English catalog.

There are a lot more parts in the book than on the US web site. I asked and was told the Euro's tend to put everything up even before it's really in production. Eventually, we'll get most everything.

I definitely want some kind of headlight protector before heading north next summer. The metal one seems like it would be easier to live with over the clear. I can't image having to clean 3 surfaces to keep my headlight working at optimum brightness.

The moto show in Seattle isn't that far away. I wonder what bits they will have...

I don't think DOT restricts aftermarket stuff as much as the OEM stuff. All of the clear protectors say "For off road use only" in tiny little print. Similar to how must aftermarket exhaust systems say "For track use only."

I have it. It looked something like megatron's face from the transformer movie. It works like the oem clear plastic with stubs, u can pull it out to clean the headlight. ::008::

Yeah, that’s a nice looking grill. It seems like they got the lines down a little better than the Hepco-Becker design. Very cool. 8)

Agree. I wonder what the price will be when available in the US.

That is nicer looking... I just wonder if it's either removable or has enough space between the guard and the headlight for cleaning.

The HB one I have has about an inch of clearance at the closest point and it's sometimes a chore to clean the headlight. It's not a quick-change mount to remove so if this one is then it may have to go on my 'got to have it' list.. LOL

Thanks, this dark style drives me nuts LOL.. okay, I was nuts before but you know what I mean.

It looks like a keeper, I'm assuming it won't easily fall off when going down rough roads.

If it is secured about the same way as the OEM unit, then I doubt it will fall off. Mine stayed intact over some some of the roughest (low-speed) terrain that I have ever been on (12 miles of boulders, rocks, hills, more boulders, rock strewn stream crossings, more rocks - get the picture?) and it stayed put.

All the answers abou how it is mounted are already given in the first post....

If you would just click on the link that is provided in the first post, you will find the answers to what you are wondering about.

The OEM mounts are rocksolid.

Thanks Blue Eyes......I particularly like that it is stainless steel underneath. I would expect much less bleeding through the black finish coat from rust in wet coastal tropical areas. I was always touching up the TT mesh grill on my BMW. It wasn't stainless underneath the finish coat. This is a good improvement.

I just ordered it. That black goes much better with my black MRA screen than the transparent Yamaha OEM headlight cover that is on it now.

Hey Blue Eyes, since you won't be needing that little clear headlight cover now, you can send it over the pond to me in North Carolina. Heck, i will not even charge you for taking that off your hands. But to just be a nice guy, I will even pay shipping. But it would be nice if you'd through in a chunk of great mild dutch cheese too. ::)

Another item like the fender extender that is absolutely useless, and for lack of a better word, dang ugly. You guys get lights broken out a lot? I have yet to have a broken light in 42 yrs riding, but it could happen I spoze, but I'll take my chances. It does look better than the plastic protector though definately.
Guess you never been roosted before.

Sure are grumpy about what other people do to their own bikes. Almost all your posts are grousing about others putting parts on a stock bike. Think we get it by now, RonH doesn't like anything other than a STOCK bike.
