Been there once, 198kmh two up with hard luggage full enough for ten days in calm conditions.
Stable and predictable, may have gone to 200 but road was starting to get bumpy so wound it down.

I've seen five or six magazine tests of the 12-13 which reported top speed - all are 124 mph +/- 1 or 2. This is probably without accessories, tucked in, sea level, etc. Assuming the average 8% error of the 12-13 speedo, this would be about 136 indicated. This is consistent with what you'd expect of a low-90's RWHP engine and a relatively tall/upright bike with a lot of frontal area.

I don't even remember what the top speed is..

You never know when you will meet a nice Police officer in Oz.

Say hello to two of our friendly law enforcement officers.

Motor Cycle Consumer News did a test on the new 2014 ES. They did have a top speed for it. I think it was around 125....but who "really" cares?

If you're judging top speed by the stock speedometer, your actual speed will be well south of the figure in your display. Mine is happy to the tune of roughly 8-9% from about 45 mph on up.

It is funny to me that whenever I am on the Vmax that is one of the first questions people ask me. "How fast is it?" My answer is usually a variant of "It goes Damned fast and gets there in a hurry."

Now with the Super 10 I have rung it out as fast as it could go (I guess) on HWY 70 East riding toward Alamogordo, NM. It is flat, and straight for miles and miles. I made it to an indicated 135 on a warm relatively calm day a few weeks ago. My 2014 S10ES is stock except for a Yamaha tall windshield and winglets. So it can go fast too, but IMO it just doesn't need to.

At about 120 the front end was uncomfortable which I felt was from the windshield so I backed off. It pretty well stopped pulling. No longer have a need for speed anyway.
