Just wish the reset button worked properly, I often have to press it about 10 times before anything happens

I don't know if this is a solution....but the front face of the instrument panel comes off. You have to take off the windshield and windshield bracket and a couple of close parts. I can't remember if I unplugged the instrument panel itself or just slightly pulled it out. On my Gen 1 I replaced the front panel when the sun did the magnifying glass effect through my windshield and caused a bad cosmetic melted part. You can take that front cover off and see if it is the button itself on the part the button presses on the circuit board.
