Of course, to be fair to all of you, I couldn't possibly accept delivery until at least half of the U. S. bikes have been delivered.
If I were you I'd just ride it around to all the US states and rub there noses...um give them a look at your new bike :D

Cheers
Graham

I'm gonna buy a new set of tires and pre-pay the next 8 services. That should cover the $1,500. :))

Yeah, that's not all that sweet of a deal, is it? Kinda like increasing the price by 20% then offering you a 15% discount. If they really wanted to do something for us, they could finance the bike for 0% interest. I'd have a lot of interest in that. Oh well, I've got 14 grand in cash I stole from my wife's purse over the last year or so. So the check I have to write won't be all that scary. But the wife will be when she finds out .... :'( R

I have been led to believe that Rick beat me by seconds, then you two plus a another who backed out in the last few weeks...

I actually informed Gary and Ja about the S10 about a year before the bikes were announced to be here. i have a connection with Condor/Fulda that was going to fly me a bike over. Then I found out about headaches, costs etc. It was then I said the moment they are released in Canuckville, I am in.

If I know Rick and his passion for bikes, he will get them all done the same day. He appreciates how pumped we are. I was riding with him on the WR's today and he too is PUMPED!!

The cool part is within the next 7-10 days we will all be on them, 4 Raven S10's roving the Yukon.

Not sure which roads to hit first!!!

I think there are actually 5 pending. There were 6 originally ordered, then Nick weenied out a little while back. Unless someone else has backed out, there should be 5. All Ravens. Pretty appropriate for up here, eh ???? R

Hey, you're not supposed to mention my unmentionables.

I nuked the Altrider crash bars/skid plate and went with SWMO. Altrider distributor in Canada just wasn't able to provide them. Hard cheese. SW MO is okay by me.

Hey, my bike might be heading to Edmonton tomorrow. Suuuuuuuuuumbich.

If you can separate yourself from your new (delivered) Super Tenere long enough to dash off a line or two, tell me how you like the SW Motech bars/plate...I keep waffling between them and the ADVRider

Well, tearing myself away from the bike ain't a problem just yet. But in a couple weeks, I may be hard to find.

I had MO techs on my KLR. Solid, simple design. I dropped it hard once. My leg took most of the hit, but I think the bars probably saved my leg from some serious damage. The bars are attached at three points, and it feels like you could lift the entire bike with them. I felt they were very adequate and good value for the money. Easy to install and solid. Not sure why I went with Altrider initially for the Tenere. A lot of hype and they do look solid, but the way I ride, I think the MO techs will be more than adequate, and a couple hundred bucks cheaper to boot. I think either will serve your purpose. Probably comes down to the price and how they look to you. HOpe this helps. R

I am thinking the same rem I can get the SW Motech from a local guy and will save close to $250 for the skid plate and the crash bars..

I'd go for it, Paul. I should have done it in the first place. I was very impressed with the ones on the KLR. The Altrides claim superior strength due to 1) stainless steel and 2) the fact that they are continuous across the breadth of the bike (I think). I think #2 is debatable. No doubt the ss is stronger but how many times do you plan to drop the bike, and how hard. I took a really sever hit on my KLR and the bars ended up with some scratched paint. Nothing more. Anyway, I cancelled the ARiders and am now awaiting the MO's. I'm quite happy with my decision. And I'll find something to spend the extra $$$ saved on. R

Your right rem the local guy $229 for the MO tech skid plate, $259 for the crash bars. Altrider $332 for the skid plate and $348 for the crash bars. So I will make a call tomorrow. What it was with the ALT crash bars was the look silver on the black bike..

I had completely forgotten about that, but that was my thinking also. I liked the contrast of the silver against the black. No worries. A little raven shit in the right place and Fred's your plumber. I might just paint them yellow. Now I like that. R
