How cool when the tank gets down to around 1.03 gal a F Trip pops up and starts counting the miles until empty.
Agree on the count-up approach. The Honda ST1300 is a count down and it can get you into trouble sometimes since the calculated range is determined at the point when you go on reserve and may not reflect true range as the conditions and your riding style change as you progress through the reserve fuel.markjenn said:The nice thing about this feature is that unless you're watching the instrument cluster like a hawk, there is always a little uncertainty exactly when that pesky low fuel light first came on. With this feature, you have a counter which tells you exactly when it happened.
I actually prefer the Yamaha's count-up approach over the BMW's (and apparently Triumph's) count-down approach because you know exactly when you went on reserve with the Yamaha whereas the BMWs have you wondering what assumption it made on range with reserve. (At least on my S1000RR, the range number it starts counting down from varies.... in fact, there is a lively discussion on several BMW forums speculating on exactly what algorithm and inputs it uses to calculate range on reserve.)

I never ran out on my FJR and always had more cushion than I thought. Hopefully, the SuperT will be the same!spklbuk said:Question becomes, who will be the first to test the range and report in
Like the feature on the FJR.
Make sure you have some spare gas on board just in case the first time ???spklbuk said:Question becomes, who will be the first to test the range and report in

Or the stated reserve capacity is slightly conservative. I've seen both situations.Bundu said:I once did 80km (50miles) on reserve and then filled up - could only get 22ltrs into the tank. So assume the tank takes slightly less than the stated 23ltrs. :
I saw on another thread where a guy ran out of gas 72 km after flashing E. Don't push it, or you literally will be pushing it.Bundu said:I once did 80km (50miles) on reserve and then filled up - could only get 22ltrs into the tank. So assume the tank takes slightly less than the stated 23ltrs. :
Another time the S10 started spluttering, luckily 50m from a filling station, but this idiot did'nt check the amount of fuel I put in.... :-[
You can reset it as you like. The Fuel count Up at reserve automatically will reset itself when you fill upHoebSTer said:Can the Avg MPG be reset with fill-up or is this ongoing accumulation of said fuel mileage? I don't mean the constant right now average MPG.
That's what I got my first tank, about 37 mpg. Today was almost 42.HoebSTer said:my first tank i put in 5.23 gall for 195 miles
there are 2 consumption meters:HoebSTer said:Can the Avg MPG be reset with fill-up or is this ongoing accumulation of said fuel mileage? I don't mean the constant right now average MPG.
