Well, like many of you I have wasted about ten thousand hours reading about this bike. I have issues. I've come across several Yamaha reports (take if for what you will), that the first guys will start seeing there bikes August 1st. If this is the case :D our new scooters are on the belly of the ship now. Wooooooooooooo- Hoooooooooooooooooo I hope im SO wrong... Hope they just sailed past Hawaii and they are going to be dropped off in a week or two ! 8)

O'well... we ALL are really close !! I freaking cant wait ! ! !

I know it is starting to set in on me that it will actually be here soon!! I have mostly kept a low profile through this ordeal but I have been reading ;D My worst nightmare at this point is IF it gets here and it has damage due to moron freight company drivers. Forklift prong through the crate would just about do me in knowing how hard and long it took to actually get the bike. Parts availability won't be that good early on I bet. Freight damage happens all too often in the delivery of motorcycles. I used to not think about getting the new bike way back when I first jumped in to get one. But the closer the delivery date gets the more I think about it. I have not bought one thing for it and I don't intend to until I see it in person. I take that back I bought a Wolfman explorer duffle bag I intend to use on the rear rack verses a top case. I have been using the duffle on the DR650 with good results. I just don't like a top case unless I am comutting to work which I won't be using the S10 for that.

Aren't we all just jones'n for this new ride. I just got an e-mail reply from Ruth at Yamaha Canada saying she hopes to hear something late this week or early next week as to delivery updates. Our local dealer suggested they might not hear anything until the SupaTs are on shore here in Canada. Hopefully they are steaming our way as we write... :-X

It's been so hot here that I need a new bike to inspire me to go ride. The FJR has been patiently waiting to have its brake fluid, clutch fluid and coolant freshened but I can't seem to muster the motivation to do anything but float in the pool or watch bike racing in air conditioned comfort. It was 102 here yesterday with parts of our state over 112! Acckkkk ???

When the S10 gets here I think I'll be riding in the hours before dawn as August isn't known as a cool weather month.

Never thought I would wish away an entire month. Ok, I'll crawl back in my corner now and pine away. :'(

Still coping alright here. Ignoring my service engine indicator, I took the Duc for an 1100 mile trek through the Grand Teton and Yellowstone. Unfortunately it will likely be in the shop for a few days now getting checked out. The debate now is whether the Tenere is close enough to consider selling the Ducati?

I've pretty much decided to sell the FJR - not because I am unhappy with it - but just that it makes the purchase of the SuperT a lot easier to swing. I have rides planned ALL summer/fall, so I really hate to sell it until the SuperT is in my stable!!!

;)

Sounds like your in the same boat. Gonna be a busy month so other than commuting I will have little time for riding until fall. Guess someone will get a freshly tuned Ducati if they meet my demands. :D

Much to my surprise I have also decided that my beloved Vee will be sold. :'( But can't get ahead of myself. The wife and I have a ride to Nova Scotia planned in mid-August and one way or the other I need a bike ready for that trip. I'd love to break in the S10 with a planned 4K (probably a tad optimistic) mile trip, but I'll need to have it around a couple of weeks to get it ready for that to happen. I'm about ready to engage the credit card and go on a buying spree just in case the bike is here in time for me to go traveling with it.

I think you're pretty close at 4k. I did Nova Scotia and PEI in 08 and we did about 3300. I'm North of you in PA.

Right now the GPS route is telling me 3,700. If we add on a stop in Columbus, OH to go to the Labor Day Strom gathering add another 5 or 600 to that. Actually it started as a Strom gathering, but it's grown to be mostly Strom and former Strom riders. I highly recommend it for some of the best twisties in the country...yes, in Ohio.

I got ya ALL beat with my woeful tale!

Less than one year ago, BMW bought back my 2009 K1300GT as a lemon. That left me with one bike. OK, no big deal except......

My ONE bike was a 2009 F800GS. Yep, you guessed it. BMW just bought it back as a lemon bike as well. I have been without ANY bike since April 8.

It pains me to no end to walk in to my garage with its freshly finished drywall and bright white paint, compressor, work bench, tool chest, stereo, and the MAN CAVE sign with no bike there. WWWWAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, August huh. Yea, that'd be cool!

I'm with you Phil I sold my M109 back on April 13th and have been without and looking at an empty garage. I even rearrange stuff in the garage just to get ready for the bike and the few farkles I did purchase have been looked at put away and looked at again. I'm even doing the wiring in my head for the Eastern Beaver harnesses I purchased for the dual horns and extra curcuits for accessories. We are a funny breed us m/c riders but we are passionate about our cicles.

OOOOuchhh. I can't imagine what kind of hoops they made you jump through to get them to do that...twice. What are the chances the same guy would buy two lemons? Never mind, I think I already know the answer to that one.
