that helps .... neighbor got one for his 701 husky.... looks good.
If you use the drop downs for the E07+, under tire size you'll see the Tenere size 150/70B17 69T TL Dakar. This is what I got. The Dakar version has a yellow stripe. You should be able to pull up a pic on google.Madhatter said:I looked at revzilla and I'm a bit confused... eo -7 , eo-7+, eo-7 Dakar, that is what I'm seeing......neighbor showed me his new eo-7 yester day , it is a + , says nothing about Dakar , a good looking tire none the less....will work great on his 701 husky.
That Ebay listing is misleading/confusing. There is no E-07+ Dakar version. Although the listing says Dakar "casing" the front tire photo is clearly not a Dakar either. Did they ship you a yellow striped Dakar front tire?Cycledude said:This is where I bought my Dakar’s but I also got 10% ebay bucks

Yes both front and rear tire came with the yellow stripe on the left side, mounted them yesterday. I was a little worried what they might be like, they seem to ride smooth and quiet just like most new motorcycle tires I’ve had in the past, the first few traffic circles the steering seemed a little weird but I guess that it just took some time to get used to them, so far I’m pretty happy with them. Tomorrow we start heading for Tuktoyaktuk, if they last the entire trip without any serious trouble I will be very happy, round trip should be about 9,000 miles. That Ebay listing is misleading/confusing. That is good news, maybe hope for the E-07+ after all. Mitas's website still doesn't show a Dakar E-07+ and I couldn't find one at the time i ordered. Now I see Twisted Throttle has a separate Dakar item.Yes both front and rear tire came with the yellow stripe on the left side, mounted them yesterday. The older E07 and the newer E07+ are both rated 50/50. Looks like the older E07 will continue on, just not in our rear tire size. The write up for the Plus indicates it's specific to the heavier more powerful Adventure/Tour bikes. Probably why it has such a limited size selection. I don't think the Plus is intended as a lesser tire when compared to it's predecessor. I'm liking the Plus I have mounted up now. Fine on pavement, fine on gravel, seems fine on tar snakes. Only a couple thousand so far.I was about to order an E-07(rear) to see they are no longer made. (I have a fairly new E-07 on the front.)
I like the older version of the E-07 because it was a very good on-road tire that did well on gravel. (I don't tend to do anything knarlier than gravel roads.)
Help me out to figure the new Mitas tires:
The new E-07 is a fifty/fifty tire... much more off-road oriented than the older version. I doubt it will have the longevity that the older version had. I doubt it will be as good on wet highways. So, I do not think it would be the ideal tire for me.
The E-08 looks to be a better tire suited for my needs. Probably get more distance out of it than my current E-07.
But, I am worried the E-08 is too similar to the Anakee which was not so good on the mud.
Or, should I take the suggestion and get the older E-07 from Performance Cycle of Colorado?
Thanks for helping me think this through!

Could you look at sidewall and post back the plies of your Dakar. Also please snap a photo of tire upon your return or before replacing on the road. Thanks
