Interested in these too. How do they compare to K60's, mainly regarding rain and slick street conditions?

TIA

Wow!

Thanks for the link Steve. Gonna sit in my chair and sip anti-flu liquids and digest that ride report the rest of the day.

Just what the doctor ordered. :)

Interesting. I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing next after I murder the Karoo 3s. This kind of mileage sounds interesting.

Wow! That tire and a loaded bike had to be scary. He must be living right 32,000 mile trip and no flats.
I can't tell what is holding the air in ;D I'm guessing he would have put on something else if one was available.
Then again I've known guys who didn't think they needed a tire until some belts started to show. Envious of his ride

Dirt Dad you would probably get the same miles that you get out of the K60.
These may hook up a little better for a while.

That's kinda what I was guessing. I could live with that. It's definitely a tire I'm considering for the next change.

Of course with the weather we've had, and my schedule lately, it could be a while before I need a new set. ::007::

Made it through exactly 1\2 of that ride report today. At that point Jeff is in Belize. (my old running ground in 79&80. I lived on Caye Calker. Today it is a "discovered" island and even has tourist amenities. In 79, it was a hiding spot. Lol. Don't ask)

Anyways, yea, he makes me wanta go through the trouble of importing a set. Just so I can be like Jeff! :)

I'm jonesing for the South of the border ride he's doing.

I must be running the wrong tire pressure, or twisting the throttle too much.
I could probably stretch my current rear tire mileage on my mitas, but not by much.
At the most I will see 10 000km out of a rear tire.

I'm puzzled how he was able to get a lot more than that..

He just never took it off? Long after you would have, I suppose.

I do pull the tire off, once I have the center theads gone. I could keep it for street riding, but it becomes a slick in gravel and mud.
I'll push my next one a bit further see if I can indeed make the 10xxx k mark.

btw.. I'll be trailering to phoenix in the last week of february to do a bit of riding around on my new FZ.
I can always bring you a set if you're in the area.

If you meant me, YOU are a true gent! (I suppose that's true regardless. Lol)

I wouldn't likely be in that area. Long away, in fact. (will be in Big Bend a week after your Phoenix trip)

But, I'm such an addict, (weak) you now got me willing to make the effort to get me some.

If I remember correctly, there is only one place for a redneck to order a set? Wasn't it an online vendor that imports them?

Why not? I've used every dirt tire that anyone has made a comment on. :) Mitas deserve a death sentence as much as any other tire does.

worse case, I can always have a set sent to me (free shipping), and forward them on to you for shipping fee.
I do belive mx1canada.com will ship them to you at a $30 dollar premium.
Talk to Heather at mx1, she's excellent to deal with.
What I have done, is started stocking up on the tires.
I have two brand new rears in the garage, and one front for the next go round.

I think they are out of stock on the dakar rear, I am on the wait list for another set. I am now at 15,000 km on this set, both front and rear will be worn out at same time.

I ran one dakar rear, and one 3 ply.
since, I have switched to 3 ply with no issues.

keep in mind too that the 140 size fits up without issue as well.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm in Greg. Can't complain about a shipping cost premium. Would make me a big fat tire hypocrite.

I got unused tires in personal stock too. Not a bad thing to have. :)

I'm due to replace the K60 rear on my bike. Looks like I will try the E-07 and if all goes well then switch the front when due. But for now, just to confirm that the preferred Mitas is the 150 / 70 -17 3-ply?

Thanks in advance.

Just spoke with Heather on these. To my door in Seattle $278 USA Dollars including Shipping!!!
They only have a few left and are getting another container in mid-late February. I didn't order at this time with Christmas $$$ still smoldering, and I am building a garage, so have to wait. I mean I only have 5000 miles on my K60's and half worn only.

still a great deal. I usually pay about $240 CDN for the set to my door. Most US Companies will not even ship north of the border.
