Most Mechanics can fix their mistakes given the chance. On the other hand Doctors bury theirs.
Reminds me of another old joke:
A mechanic was removing the engine parts from a racing car when he saw a famous heart surgeon in his shop.

He went to him & said, "Look at this engine... I opened its heart, took the valves out, repaired and put them back. So why do I get such a small salary? and you get huge sums???"

Classic reply by Doctor: The doctor smiled at the engineer, came close to his ear and said, "Try it while the engine is running."

Yup. My Sister in Law is Thai. I remember 17 years ago she did some kind of stir fry with them. I didn't have the fortitude to try it.
They are very common in the NE Isaan region of Thailand. I like the little green acidic ants with chilli etc.

My good friend's ex is from Isaan and they often say they are Lao not Thai. I lived in Laos for a while (with an ostrich for company...) and he brought her there to visit. After all the years of proudly proclaiming she was Lao, she quickly changed her tune - Laos is, to my mind, how I perceive Thailand to be like in the 1950s. Very genteel people and charming. The bonus of the French being there is that they have very cheap wine, compared to Thailand, and they know how to make wonderful loaves. She did not see the charm, only the lack of modern frippery.

The cicada are thick around here in MD too and the current big thing is all the ways to cook and serve them.
They go down great wingless with a little soy sauce & beer.
