That poor guy. . . . he must be a newlywed. . . . if he actually thought she meant to do what ever he wanted. Those of us "experienced" married people know, that when that statement is made. . . . whatever you want to do. . . . had better be the last thing you do.Just you all remember how lucky you are!
My wife actually tried to have me tell our boys that they couldn't get bikes. Asked her if she realized how much of a hypocrite that would make me. Tell my boys they couldn't ride. . . . as I got on my bike to go to work?. . . . I can't imagine what my life would be like if my wife told me I can't ride...and expected me to obey.
Pretty much got my ass handed to me recently by some female adv riders in a FB post because a dude posted that he was looking for someone to join him on a scheduled ride after his regular riding buddy backed out because "HIS WIFE WON'T LET HIM GO ALONE". It was just a bit of good-natured ribbing, and I get the wife being worried, but if you post in a public biker forum that momma won't "let" you go on a trip by yourself......there's a certain amount of ball-busting to be expected.I'm always curious when someone finds out I ride then tells me his wife made it very clear he's not allowed to ride a motorcycle. Really...or is that just an excuse. It's okay to say you're not all that interested in riding. I don't mind. I can't imagine what my life would be like if my wife told me I can't ride...and expected me to obey.
Do tell what you posted to piss them off. 'Cuz, you're right. If you're not allowed to ride without a buddy. . . . you don't post that. . . . without the expectation of catching grief. It might also say something about his abilities. If I couldn't ride alone. . . . I'd never get to ride.Pretty much got my ass handed to me recently by some female adv riders in a FB post . . . .
And why does the guy need somebody to ride with him?Pretty much got my ass handed to me recently by some female adv riders in a FB post because a dude posted that he was looking for someone to join him on a scheduled ride after his regular riding buddy backed out because "HIS WIFE WON'T LET HIM GO ALONE". Well, playing out and about in a bunch of technical chit it's nice to have a buddy along to help lift this machine or help drag her out of a failed river crossing. And why does the guy need somebody to ride with him?
fwiw - My wife was/is one of the most manipulative people I've ever met. She doesn't mean harm, just that life is a game for her to control what everybody else does.
It's a big reason why she's my ex.
I've said it before. . . . A man's got to know his limitations.Well, playing out and about in a bunch of technical chit it's nice to have a buddy along to help lift this machine or help drag her out of a failed river crossing.
