I'm always curious when someone finds out I ride then tells me his wife made it very clear he's not allowed to ride a motorcycle. Really...or is that just an excuse. It's okay to say you're not all that interested in riding. I don't mind. I can't imagine what my life would be like if my wife told me I can't ride...and expected me to obey.

My wife actually tried to have me tell our boys that they couldn't get bikes. Asked her if she realized how much of a hypocrite that would make me. Tell my boys they couldn't ride. . . . as I got on my bike to go to work? o_O

Pretty much got my ass handed to me recently by some female adv riders in a FB post because a dude posted that he was looking for someone to join him on a scheduled ride after his regular riding buddy backed out because "HIS WIFE WON'T LET HIM GO ALONE". It was just a bit of good-natured ribbing, and I get the wife being worried, but if you post in a public biker forum that momma won't "let" you go on a trip by yourself......there's a certain amount of ball-busting to be expected.

Do tell what you posted to piss them off. 'Cuz, you're right. If you're not allowed to ride without a buddy. . . . you don't post that. . . . without the expectation of catching grief. It might also say something about his abilities. If I couldn't ride alone. . . . I'd never get to ride. :D

And why does the guy need somebody to ride with him?

fwiw - My wife was/is one of the most manipulative people I've ever met. She doesn't mean harm, just that life is a game for her to control what everybody else does.
It's a big reason why she's my ex.

Well, playing out and about in a bunch of technical chit it's nice to have a buddy along to help lift this machine or help drag her out of a failed river crossing.

I've said it before. . . . A man's got to know his limitations.
