Thanks for the enthusiastic ride report. It reinforces my thoughts after my short ride in January. Also thanks for the closeup shot of the tach/speedo. The lack of the key icon and accompanying light confirms that it is a USA bike without the immobilizer. Up to now, we only saw pics of a Raven USA bike, but now see we also have at least one blue one here.

No one seemed to know much there but if I had to guess I would think that bike has only been in tha US for a very short time with only 350 miles on it.

The news about the vibrations of the engine is fantastic. I too said I'll never go back to a v-twin due to the vibes, so I'm really glad to hear this from somebody who admittedly prefers the smoother engines like the inline 4s.

What v-twin are you comparing it to? My V-Strom 650 is smooth. It's a 90 degree v-twin.

I've ridden a handful, but the one I owned was a Suzuki VS-800.

I have always been a fan of the 4 cylinder and one of my personal rules was to never own a twin again (1977 XS 650).
Exactly what happened to me :D

Then I bought an SV650 and realized that 90degree V-Twins are amazingly smooth for their size.
Then I bought a DL1000 and realized that maybe at some point you may need some secondary balancing, although it's only after many hours.

I think the XS was a 360Degree crank meaning even firing order but both pistons go up and down together. as opposed to the 180 degree cranks where the firing order is uneven but the pistons are 1 up 1 down.

The s10 is in between sort of.

Great that they have sorted out the vibes 8)

Cheers
Graham

Kinda like "Good vibes"!!!! :D

Really, all twins have their own characteristic vibration. I've never had a real problem with any of them - although I've never owned a Harley. ;)

(not a bash)

:)

The S10 is not vibration free, but is pretty damn smooth nevertheless. I would say that my DL650 was smoother. On the S10 there is distinct twin pulse on acceleration and some vibration can be felt through the handlebars and footpegs when cruising above 120km/h. I read comments from one person who was complaining about numbness in his hands from S10 handlebar vibration. I have only seen this one complaint and know that I do not suffer from numbness.
