Suggestion for your blog. It would be nice to have a link back to the top of the page at the end of each of your posts. Makes it easier for someone like me who is late to the party to read chronologically.

As it is now I had to go to the bottom to start, read a post, then scroll back up to the beginning of the next post. It made for a cumbersome read.

Good question Dave ;) It's the Redverz solo, the smaller version of the tent. Its only 12lbs and not the 14lbs or 15lbs of the big one. I actually own both, a series II and the solo tents. I wouldn't be able to get the full size tent in my pannier. I also get 25' of extension cord for my cpap, my camp chair( from Best Rest) and my Keen sandles in there. As I travel I'm constantly thinking of how I can repack all my gear and what I can get rid of to lighten my load. Packing the Solo tent with me took some serious thought. If I didn't pack it( and camping gear) I could almost do without that big Mosko Moto duffle bag. I'd be having to pay for hotels or couch surf a lot more then I'm planning to do. The tent offers me the flexibility if I just want or need to camp somewhere. I also know it's a bit of luxury and I could have used a smaller back packing tent but to stand up and put your gear on is huge for me. I also really like the privacy it affords.

So do you fold it or does it fit in there rolled in its bag? I've got the big Bumots (41/45L), so I'm thinking I can fit it in there somewhere. The poles have to be separated for sure.

Yep, the poles are in a pocket on the Mosko moto backcountry duffle. (Pete Day at Mosko moto designed a great bag) The tent is folded in the compression bag it ships with then it's in a roll top dry bag that's just big enough. If the tent gets wet, it won't get anything else wet it may be backed with.

As I make my way (today is day 8 ) I'll see if I can try other ways to pack my gear. Having spent 25 years packing and loading gear in the military, I know there is more than 1 way to pack it. I'll try several different ways as time and the miles pass by. It's a process.

Having a good time in California on the super twisty pavement but looking forward to the dirt routes in Arizona, Utah and parts of Idaho between June 3rd and 12th. Still looking for someone to join me.

Anyone in Az want to join me next week for a ride? I'll be leaving Tucson on June 3rd or 4th and heading to Winslow. I'd like to roughly follow the AzBDR route. I'm looking to get off road after all this pavement in California. Please PM me or shoot me an email to pnwtenere@gmail.com . The next day will be to St George Utah.

If I hadn't moved back to Vegas from Phoenix, I would have loved to join you! It's not so hot yet that riding during the day is a chore, but its still on the warm side, so be sure to stay hydrated!

Hi NorthwestCajun,
I noticed on your map that it looks like you are missing the absolutely incomparable Geogria/NC/Tennessee corner of the country including The Tail of the Dragon, the Cherohala Skyway, and many other amazing motorcycle roads. Don't make the mistake of your life (unless of course, this is all home turf to you from the "Cajun" days).

The map posted is only a suggestion. The Dragon, and Blue Ridge parkway are very high on my list. I'll have the month of August to get from Georgia to Maine. Want to join me to show me around? I haven't done any riding on the east coast and very much looking forward to it.

Yamaha invited me to a track day at the Chuckwalla Raceway in Desert Center Ca. It was a great day even if I forgot to turn the lights off.

I bookmarked the Delorme page. Will see if timing works out for some riding but I fear I still work 5 days a week.
How much is that Delorme service costing you?
