Talk to me about bar risers - what are you running?

Again, recollection from long ago when I purchased.......

The 15 degree bars are the ones designed specifically for the Tenere by the dirt bike test riders. I think the 19 degree bars are just another FlexBar that was part of their product line but fits all the criteria for the Tenere.

Not saying one is better than the other. Simply a matter of preference on the sweep.

I have wide shoulders and prefer the straighter bar.

And yes, still loving them. :)

I love this bike period. I am riding it every day. Everywhere. On every surface.
From daily commute to rock crawling 2-up. Farkled to near perfection.

I was all set to pull the trigge ron the Flexx bars last night. had everything loaded inot the shopping cart, got over the sticker shock and almost clicked submit.

In my excitement, I remembered to review everything.

Then I noticed the 15 degree bars and the 19 degree bar options. Hmmm...why two? What's the difference (other than the 4 degrees, obviously)...

So, purchase on hold, email sent.

I had a few minutes during lunch today, so figured I'd call the shop. Extremely helpful call, I must say!

First off, I have a big thing for customer service. I will go out of my way to support businesses offering excellent customer service. I grew up in the CS industry and at one point ran a training program for CS at Caesar's Palace casinos in Canada. So...I like to think I have at least a basic understanding of how to offer solid customer service.

Fasst nails it!

After my 10 minute chat with them, I feel excited to make this purchase...nay...obligated to buy this product!

  • After asking me some basic questions, the answer was clear - go with the 15 degree bars. For my 6 foot height, that's the right choice.

I then asked about the nylon inserts - any issues, should I go with aluminum - nope - no need.

Can I reuse the stock hand guards - yes.

Any issues with a Kaoko throttle lock - nope (but really, this depends on where I place the throttle tube during install ;) )

What's the best color on a Tenere - blue, of course. (Ok, so I might be making this one up...)

Yeah, they nailed it! Made me feel very confident that I was buying the right product from the right company.

Now...to pull the trigger...!

So for shorter riders they recommend the 19 degree bar?

Do they also sell the inserts?

I'm going to hedge on this, twin and say *I think so*. I'm 6 feet and they said "for your height, we recommend the 15 degree bars".

That said, a quick call to Colt or Cole should help clarify things a bit. If you'd care to post your personal stats :height, inseam, type of riding - I'll see about calling them in the next day or so to specifically ask on your behalf - save you the call from the other side of the world. ;) I can then post up their feedback for everyone watching this thread, too. :)

Sounds good: 5'7", 30" inseam, 31" shirt sleeve. Mainly use the S10 for commuting and sport-touring/LD touring. Some gravel and dirt roads every now and then. Currently running the Rox Pro-offset risers with the stock bars: 1" up, 1" back.

Thanks ::008::

Might might be a consideration but... shoulder width should be the first concern. If the handlebar stays the same width... the wider the shoulders the flatter the handlebar.

Just got off the phone with them, Twin...here goes...

They recommend the 19 degree units in your case. The nice part of having the Rox risers installed is it increases your range of adjustability options, so the recommendation is the bars in conjunction with the risers for your case.

Again on this call, the team (Chris this time) at Fasst was crystal clear: I read off the stats you provided and Chris immediately said "Go with the 19's." Then walked me through the range of adjustability side of things with the Rox now in place. Essentially, having them will let you add more reach back towards you if that's desired, or tilting the bars more upright would keep the reach from you tot eh bars the same as you have now, but position your hands a bit higher.

Bought the 15 degree Flexx bars tonight - we'll see how this goes. Never a fan of swapping grips, so it'll be a while before I get to this as I simply don't have the experience and tools needed. I'm also going to add heated grips during the install as I figure that's the best time to add them. :)
