Ordered a few SW-Motech pieces in anticipation of the Super Tenere's arrival. Already post pics of the skid-plate in another thread. Wanted to show the crash-bars (unmounted for now :( ).

Close up of the forward mount:

I think the UPS guy is a Harley rider. The box my stuff came in was in rough shape. Most of the items survived the voyage to my front porch. A few of the pics show a little rash on the mounting edges. I'm not worried about this at all. Some black touch up paint (or finger nail polish) will take care of the scrapes. I'll probably be adding my own scratches soon after they are mounted anyway. ???

I have Motechs on my Versys. Bought' em because they do full tube welds, no crush joints. Nice stuff for the price.

I also have the SW Motech crashbars and skidplate fitted to my Wee. I like their products, so I ordered the SW Motech crashbars and Skidplates for the S10 as well. If all goes well I should have the S10 by the weekend, with the goodies fitted!!!

They're on my son't Wee, too. After he got tossed at about 30 mph on a bridge joint, we found they did their job. The nice part was that Twisted Throttle would sell a replacement for just the one ground and slightly bent bar. Price was more than half of a set, but less than all-new.

Mine arrived today with a bit more than a little rash. I felt this when I reached in to grab the bar and take it out of the bubble wrap. The wrap was intact, so it had to have happened when it was packed. I'm guessing that happened all the way back to the factory.

I called Twisted Throttle as soon as I found it. They had me send pictures and said they'll get back to me. Fortunately I know they have a good reputation and I'm sure everything will be worked out. Just glad I figured this out before the bike got here.

No doubt Kev will take care of that, but it's still a major bummer to have scratched bars before they have ever been mounted.

While it's true I would prefer not to need to deal with this, I'd be a lot more annoyed if the bike were here and I was ready to install. Fortunately I have the luxury of time. In the mean time I'll go back over the side racks and count all my nuts and bolts to make sure they are ready to go.

I don't have a Harley issue - as long as they always ride at the back of the group............. ;)

I don't mind riding at the back of the group as long as no body falls down, Harleys are hell to get stopped their brakes are not worth a damn. :D

I wouldn't have a problem with them if the majority (around here anyway) weren't so G D loud!

Ya gotta put pipes on them to get any horsepower - I am running 1600cc and only producing about 75hp all tuned with a tuner and a freed-up intake. Most of the noise is perfomance driven. I might suggest that some of the after market exhaust for the Supat might be fairly loud as well. I didn't like the noise either though. I am looking forward to an engine making 100hp in stock form. quiet O:)

Not any real issues. Some of guys I work with have Harleys and a few have the "if in ain't a Harley, it ain't worth crap" attitude. We take turns pushing each others buttons in jest. Most are good sports, like me. One or two get a little too wrapped up in it. They are the best ones to pick on.

Re: SW-Motech Crashbars (pics)

My Harley days are finally over. What a hassle trying to sell. The best offer I had from a private party was $10,500. I told him I wasn't selling shares or parting bike out. The book value on it was $ 16,000 and I had it advertised for $ 15,000. The trade in allowance I was offered for a BMW or Harley at a BMW/Harley dealer was $ 9,800. So a big "Thank You" to Tyler at Moon Motorsports in Monticello, MN for the excellant trade in allowance on my new R1200RT.

Re: SW-Motech Crashbars (pics)

If you were looking for hp in a HD, start with the cam, then an aftermarket carb, properly jetted, followed by pipes. Loud does not equate to HP.....cam and carb doesn't affect sound, but can give you a 20 boost in hp, with the right jets.

Of course, I'm going back 25 years,...and you had to ride with a saddle bag full of tools. Those days are (thankfully) far back in my rearview.
