Sure. Giving yourself 3 or 4 days gives you enough time to sample a good deal of the best areas. In fact, it gives you a good opportunity to make a nice *loop*... Starting out west of Austin then working you way down South through the best part of the "Hill Country". From there you'll be west and south of Austin and northwest of San Antonio, and can work your way across through places like Fredericksburg or Sisterdale, and over towards the area between San Antonio and New Braunfels, working your way up then to the track east of Austin and near Bastrop.

Check out a map and you'll see what I mean.

I just wish I could make it up there then and show ya' around... :-[

I may try to head down early. There's some guys from Texas here at the Hub who say I have to ride the Sisters at Leakey? Any of you Texas riders willing to show us around the Hill Country?
Be sure to visit the Lone Star Motorcycle Museum just south of Kerrville. Great place to stop for lunch and drool over some vintage iron.

Hit up TWTex.com (Two Wheel Texans); there's a bunch of reprobates on there who are usually pretty proud to show off the marvels of TX.

The MotoGP looks like a lot of fun. I hope to ride down for the practice and possibly Saturday race. It would be fun to meet other S10 riders. I live north of Dallas. I miss the old days of Aqufest when there was a AMA roadrace around the old convention center.

I'll be there, as will SwampyVT. We are riding down from NJ with a few other friends. We are making a 2 week trip of the event, hoping to kick off just about every state between NJ and TX taking a different route there and back.

Skyline, Blueridge Pkwy, then the Dragon or Cherohala Skyway, 68 to 64. Will get you into Tennessee. That would be a sweet ride!

There is lots of here in Texas, you might also want to check out Two Wheeled Texans. They do a bunch of fantastic texas rides. They are down in big bend this week and have another ride coming up the same weekend as motogp.

Probably in part at least due to the recent tragic events at the Boston Marathon, the security at the Austin COTA MotoGP will be beefed up considerably, and the list of *PROHIBITED* items has changed considerably from just a few days ago... You might want to check out the prohibited list just to make sure you don't try to enter with something you shouldn't, and having it it either confiscated or you not being allowed into the track.

The new *PROHIBITED* list can be found here: http://circuitoftheamericas.com/prohibited-items

And a news story about the changes can be found here: http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2013/Apr/130416cota.htm

Just FYI...
