Hey there, Folks!

Just wondering how many here are planning to attend the upcoming MotoGP event at the new Austin "Circuit of the Americas" in April 2013. The event will be over the 19th - 21st weekend, and should be a hell of a show. Having been to a number of the recent MotoGP events at Laguna Seca the past few years I can honestly tell you that seeing a MotoGP bike at full chat is a memorable and not to be duplicated experience!

More info here: http://www.circuitoftheamericas.com/moto-gp

If any of you Super Tenere owners are going it might be a great place for a get-together to meet some fellow forum members in person. I'll be there, though most likely not on my Super Tenere, as some of my family lives in Austin and we'll be meeting up with them for dinner, etc. during the weekend.

Any ideas out there for meeting up at the track one day?

Thanks, and I hope to see ya' there! ::008::

I'll be there for the race. Yamaha typically will have a large area with bikes on display at the race. We could arrange to meet near the Tenere on display at a particular time and day?

Who's "they" and what does that have to do with meeting up at the track?

Tickets will be affordable, about $90 for the 3 days general admission and the site says 3 day reserved seats "start" at $133. Doesn't say anything about pit passes. If you've never seen MotoGP, consider going as it is quite a show.

I'm probably going to make this as well as long as tickets are reasonable. Will probably have to get a hotel room as well. ::022:: ::026::

If anybody wants to know where I locked down a room drop me a PM. It's not that cheap, but it's very, very nice, very close to the track, and avoids a ton of any traffic problems. ;D

I've been to MotoGp in Indy a few times (including inaugural) and plan to go to new venue in Austin next year. I will keep my eye on the forum as the date draws near. It is a long haul, but I am pondering the thought of riding my moto down. Would be nice getting through the Ozark twisties. ::015::

Did you click on the link? Has a big photo of Spies..on the yami.

They would be the circuit, where said photo is at.

But honestly, in the end, what difference does it make? So what? Geez, Laguna Seca still shows pics of Nicky on the Repsol Honda! ::)

Maybe the COTA folks were putting together the web page long before the world knew Spies was signing with Pramac/Ducati... Hell, for a while there it seemed like Spies didn't even know what he was going to do...

So, are you planning on coming to the Austin MotoGP event, or just trollin'?

Got my tickets today. Look forward to some great racing and meeting up with some of the gang.
Went ahead and reserved a screened in shelter that can hold up to 8 people at McKinney Falls State Park, which appears to be only a few miles from the track for $40/night. Would be willing to split costs with other inmates.

I may try to head down early. There's some guys from Texas here at the Hub who say I have to ride the Sisters at Leakey? Any of you Texas riders willing to show us around the Hill Country?

Though the real Texas "Hill Country" is a couple of hundred miles from where I'm at I'll be glad to be a *ride guide* for any S-10 riders that ever want to come down... The Three Sisters (also know as the Triple 3's, as in 335, 336, and 337), 55, 16, 473, and many, many other great roads... Leakey, Camp Wood, Medina, Rocksprings, Bandera, Kerrville, Sisterdale, Fredericksburg, etc., etc., etc. for wonderful towns... And then there's whole other great roads and areas like around Dripping Springs, Wimberley, etc.

Only problem is I *CANNOT* do it the weekend of the Austin MotoGP event, as I will have to be in my car then.

Just about any other time, with just a reasonable notice, I'll be happy to help arrange rides up in the Texas Hill Country... Roads, hotels, restaurants, wineries... You name it and I'll try to make it happen.

Note, the best part of the Hill Country is pretty far from where the COTA track for the MotoGP is, so it might be hard to fit any amount of good Hill Country riding the same weekend as the MotoGP. Better to enjoy the good roads on the way down and heading back to Arkansas, like those around Brenham, Burton, Somerville, Independence, etc., and then plan a separate ride exclusively to the Hill Country when you have another 3 to 5 days you can ride there.

Just my two centavos... OMMV. But just about any other time I'll be happy to be your guide.
