SOLD

Never thought i'd sell my S10 but here we are. I am the 2nd owner of this incredible machine. She was born in 2012 and we became partners in Feb 2013 when her first owner could no longer ride her. Since then she's been very well maintained (im a mechanical engineer and a diy'er, i am OCD about maintenance and i take care of all my machines) but she's also been well used. She has 24k miles on the odometer and if she could talk she would tell you about sleeping outside in the jungles of Oaxaca Mexico or crossing Cinnamon pass and Alpine loop pass in Colorado, or maybe the time we rode in the snow at March Moto Madness in the Great Smoky Mountains. Or maybe she'd say that she prefers twisty pavement like what we encountered on the Tail of the Dragon, The Twisted Sisters, or Hwy 123 near Mt Judea in NW Arkansas.

She's had a few upgrades along the way, they include:
-Rumbux crash bars and skidplate (bombproof, no other system comes close)
-MRA vario windscreen
- ECU reflash by AVC
-Sirius 12" LED light bar wired into the high beams
-OEM winglets
-Kaoko throttle lock
-Oxford heated grips
-Touratech kickstand wide foot thingy
-battery tender pigtail
-grip puppies
- handlebar risers (non-adjustable, dont remember brand)

Maintenance stuff
-Engine oil, filter and final drive oil changed every 4k miles, synthetic only
-new air filter
-new spark plugs
-valves adjusted
-2014 CCT installed
-Throttle bodies synchronized
-steering head bearings greased
-YES warranty til Sep 2017
-New rear brakes recently installed, i also have a new set of front brakes uninstalled
-All original parts available

She has never given me any issues or complaints, she is all day comfortable, has the best wind protection and will ride offroad like a dirtbike and carve corners like a sportbike. The bike itself is fairly clean but the rumbux and Jesse's have taken a beating from offroad riding. Rumbux still provide protection and Jesse's ars still waterproof.

Unfortunatlely i made the mistake of throwing a leg over something younger with bigger tits and as much as i love my Tenere i am not one to keep something in my garage if it doesnt get used.

Im asking $7500 OBO, located in Beaumont TX

You got it right. And although the wind protection sucks, its not as comfortable on long rides and i have to deal with a stupid chain, the weight difference makes it a better bike for the riding i do know.

"she would tell you about sleeping outside in the jungles of Oaxaca Mexico"

I will NOT hijack this thread beyond this post............but I GOTTA take you to supper and get the story! I need details. Oaxaca is bucket-list material and I barely have any list left.

I've seen this bike. It's another Gen1 rockstar. You're gonna miss her. I'm just saying. :)

I dont mind the side topic. Oaxaca has been one of my favorite trips. I have 2 regrets: 1. I did not make it to Chiapas as planned, 2. I was solo so i had no one to share the experience with. The terrain in this area lends itself to awesome offroad riding and street riding, the locals speak Spanish and their indigenous language Mixe (the "x" sounds like "h" in spanish, so its like pronouncing Mexico in spanish with the "e" and the "i" sounds swapped).

Given the opportunity i would go again.

Funny story in all my travels i havent met anybody that recognized a super tenere. Well when i was riding on a dirt road through the mountains of Oaxaca i stopped to rehydrate in front of this little hut that looked like a mechanics shop. The owner came out and greeted me with a huge smile on his face and said "How do you like your Super Tenere". I was dumbfounded, of all the people. Just goes to show, never judge a book by its cover

Thanks for graciously allowing me to get away with the hi-jack. But now you've gone and done it! You went "solo"!!!

I too would rather go with someone to share the experience, but I want to go bad enough to go solo if I am happy with my strategy. YOU now have all the answers to that strategy. Like I said, I'd scurry to Beaumont just for the honor of feeding you (and the family) dinner and pic your brain.

I can't exactly explain why Oaxaca. But it has STUCK with me ever since I lived vicariously through an article I read once.

As strange as it might seem, I'm longing to eat a native Oaxacan meal cooked by this lady:

Oh, and if you wanna go again on that Tenere before you sell it...........:)
(Or would you ride that illicit Orange lady to the mountains of Oaxaca?)

Under pressure from a customer, he made me go ride his 1190 AR. That bike was really awesome. Now I've been keeping tabs on the conversations about the new 1290 AR. I would love to throw a leg over one, what a monster!!!

Post pictures and info on your new ride!!! Congratulations!!!!

Gentlemen, this bike is very clean, keep in mind that the black parts that look dirty or worn have actually been plasti-dipped, like the exhaust cover and the left side u-joint guard, the right side exhaust guard and the right side heel/brake guard as well as the passenger footpegs. Plasti dip can be easily removed to change color back to silver or reapplied.
