I have run a Stebel Air horn on various bikes over the years to good effect and even have one mounted in my pickup truck. The last one on a bike was an SV650 and I pulled the horn and harness/relay before putting the bike back to stock.
I've scoured the Tenere several times over the years for places to mount it, unsuccessfully.
Recently I re-read an article in MCN about aftermarket horns and was about to order a pair of highly rated Fiamm horns to mount under the headlight, when I decided to pull the old Stebel off the shelf and look at the Tenere one more time.
Found a great location on the right side just behind the coolant hose. Yamaha even provides a mounting hole in the frame that works really well.
Removed the stock horn and bracket, and bolted the brake hose bracket back onto the lower triple clamp.
Fabbed a little bracket to hang the Stebel nearly vertically as it does not like to be mounted horizontally.
Connected the harness/relay and done!
Why didn't I think of this before?
