Good morning - Day 2,
We had off and on rain yesterday, which means we have freshly washed roads today and the creeks are up a bit.
The weather for the next three days is supposed to be cool and spectacular. Zero percent chance of rain and highs of 73 today, 77 tomorrow, ,then 82 on Monday. It was amazing to hear how many people plan to ride all day Sunday and head home on Monday.
Even with the rain, we were over 120 people signed in yesterday. Make sure to sign in with Heather inside the door that says Service.
BUY RAFFLE TICKETS FROM HEATHER.
We have a boatload of great stuff, including a GoPro camera, shirts, and other stuff collected by Romney Cycles and Dirty Dad. Rather than auction the two shirts from our Brazilian sister event, the shirts will also be raffle prizes.
Two Live And Learn updates:
First is that we had some riders get split up and find that they strongly wished they had each others cell phone numbers. Before you folks head out, please realize that this is to your benefit!
On a related note, Heather (Romney), Larry (Romney), and I (Bob) have access to the phone numbers everybody signed in with. We are not the phone company and are only going to use the list for emergencies. But if needed, call Romney Cycles and we can help you. There were several bikes needing recovery and we can arrange that too.
The second update is that Romney got a big new hospital and the ICE sheets do not show it. The new hospital is almost behind the Chevrolet dealer, a couple miles east of town and the current info is:
Hampshire Memorial Hospital
363 Sunrise Blvd
Romney, WV. 26757
Main: 304-822-4561
ER: 304-822-4927
Lat/Long: 39.3336111 / -78.6975000
