In anticipation of my 7 day, 4000 mile round trip to Seattle (actually Maple Valley, WA), leaving tomorrow, I have been testing a few things out to make the trip more comfortable.
Like many here I have struggled with what I believed to be an uncomfortable seat and seriously considered buying one of the expensive aftermarket jobs.
Since I was going to be traveling a long distance and 500 miles a day I wanted to pack light and wear protective gear as much as possible. So I tested a few combinations.
What I have found was that the briefs made by the outdoor company Ex Officio, combined with my Olympia riding pants, has solved the problem with discomfort. The combination has none of the seams that my jeans and regular briefs have which in combination cause the chaffing that I had attributed to the seat.
So riding is no longer a PITA ::025::
If you see a blue heading West from Arkansas...it's me.
