I'd have zero hesitation in taking my 2014 Tenere to Alaska or anywhere else, as-is, tomorrow. After 11.5 years through two Super Teneres, I simply got new bike fever, wanted a shaft that's lighter & can still tour, and just picked up a new contract for the business so the Tenere is up for sale after buying a new Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro. It was too good of a deal to pass up.

FOR SALE:
2014 Yamaha Super Tenere Blue, non-ES. This is the current generation (Gen2), just like brand new bikes.
NOW $7,900
Owned it since it was a few months old due to original owner's health issues. Clear title in hand.
Has an 1199cc parallel twin engine, very smooth, combined with the shaft drive this bike will eat up the miles. Currently less than 38,000 miles on a bike which people are getting 200,000+ miles from.
Seat Concepts Comfort seat.

Factory cruise control.
ABS brakes; Yamaha Unified brake system.
Yamaha OEM heated grips integrated with dash module and handlebar mounted control.
Yamaha OEM Wind deflectors.
Two OEM windscreens, one summer and one touring

Pivot Pegz.
Altrider luggage top plate.
Top of the line ACD skid plate with "stud mod" making it easy to remove for oil changes every 5,000 miles.
Fast detach luggage racks (NO boxes/bags included) will work with dry bags or hard panniers.
Has crash bars and fallen on its sides but no actual crashes or damage. Tank has two minor knicks as shown in photos.

FuzeBlock power distribution module.
GPS/phone Mounting block above instruments. Will include RAM Cross mount.
Aux USB Port to power cable for GPS or phone.
Upgraded LED headlights with extra deep caps to keep them dry.
Rigid lightbar.
Front & rear camera system.

SAE plug for heated jacket pigtail or charging the battery.
New lithium battery.
Hidden trailer electric connector.

Avon Trailrider tires AV54 rear and AV53 front

[NEED TO ADD PIX OF THE PANNIER RACKS]

Will not waste time responding to blind and low offers

Location is near Woodfield Elementary School, zip 20882

Nice bike!
It will be interesting to hear your experience with the tiger.
I did the other way around.
-11 tiger 1000, -14 tiger 1200 xc, -18 tiger xca and now -20 Explorer 1200 raid edition.

After 11.5 years through two Super Teneres, I have new bike fever, want a shaft that's lighter & slightly smaller that can still tour, and just picked up a new job for the business. So the Tenere is up for sale. Probably little surprise to most then is that I'm picking up a new Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro. I'll start a new "Other Bikes" thread after getting some riding in.
Kevin at Romney Cycles is already lower than most other dealers on price, PLUS till the end of this month (meaning this week) Triumph is giving a $1,000 discount on the bike and another $954 off for not taking their panniers. It's a hard deal to pass up.
I will be curious to read your impressions about your new Tiger 1200 GT Pro as I have the Tiger 1200 Rally Pro on my very short list
as a possible replacement for my '13 S10.
*IMHO the graphics on the new Tiger 1200s are awful....

Congratulations! ! I knew it woudnt take long.... LOL I sat on the 1200 adventure not to long ago and it really felt good on the showroom floor. I look forward to your thoughts. Don't let the 50 extra HP scare you ! :)

Thanks guys. As mentioned I intended to just keep this bike for the foreseeable future till Kevin made me an offer I can't refuse on the Tiger.

I've been watching the SpaceX Starship news and was tentatively planning to ride from DC to the southern tip of Texas when they announce a launch date. I'd have ZERO hesitation today to take this Tenere there, back to the west coast, Alaska, or anywhere else.

If you don’t try you’ll never know! :)
I loved my -14 xc but viberations in my -18 xca and a bad dealer screwed it all up!
Shaft drive is a must and BMW is out of the picture so…..here I am!
No regrets!
I’ll think you’ll be a happy guy!:)
My experience is that you ride with tenere and drive with tiger.

Interesting observation in that last line.

As for the forum, I'm planning to stay like a number of others have and the other mods have agreed to me staying on as a mod.
Glad to see you'll still be hanging around the neighborhood. I've only been on here since early 2020 when I picked up my 2013, but I've appreciated your various insights (Tenere and otherwise) and would sorely miss them in the future. Best of luck

Thread bump for weekly price cut.
Note that it's $100 less here than at the ADV site or on Craigslist.

Congrats on your sale. I think this will be the only bike I've ever had that I'll feel bad about when it's time for it to go (assuming that day ever comes).
