Altrider makes one. I don't have it and have never used it, but they have one for the XTZ. R

I made my own out of a 0.5cm piece of steel and screwed it on. This ting will never bend, probably the 2 bolds I used will brake off earlier. Maybe tomorrow I will post some pics.

Using the CamelToe sidestand plate. It was a pain fitting it as it needed slight filing to get clearance for the bolts past the oem sidestand foot. Not had any issues sofar but heard some complain of the bolt heads (on the underside of foot plate) wearing away preventing tightening if loosened. Other than that the style is slightly cheesey as is the logo but it does what i wanted and that was to extend the sidestand to counter what looked and felt like too acute a resting angle for the bike. It also helps with getting the stand down whilst still astride the bike.

This is what I have made. It's rock solid. :D I took a copy of the original footprint and enlarged it with aprox. 1cm and cut it out of steel. Drilled 2 holes in it for the 2 bolds and all the way around some more hole's just to make it a little lighter.

That definately looks like it will do the job.

Has anyone felt the need to address the "pin" on the kickstand? I found it somewhat annoying to deploy and already decided that once I get my bike, to fab up something like this.

Thanks titsken, that certainly looks as if it will do the job forever and a day!

macca, noted re. the Cameltoe. I did wonder about the implications of the bolt heads being proud of the underside of the stand plate. Leaning towards the Altrider extender, but wouldn't mind hearing from an actual owner before laying down more cash (plus import duties, etc. to the UK).

Kevhunts, I've actually (belatedly) started to make some use of the "pin" - kicking against it with the rear of my heel to flip the sidestand downwards. Admittedly it is no paragon of ergonomic design and I think I'd prefer there to be a tang at the base of the stand as illustrated in your photo.

cameltoe? cameltoe? cameltoe? ???

When I read that, this came to mind: Camel Toe Song! So sorry, couldn't resist. I'll try to go back to a more mature mode O:)

p.s. I suppose I should do the right thing and report myself to a moderator...

I just followed the link to the ADV thread and wound up ordering a Camel Toe. Pretty nice looking functional device. Total with shipping is 30.25 pounds, or about $50. Kind of pricey, but I like this one better than the other options that I have seen, and the name is cool, too. ;D

Camel Toe

I replaced the touratech one on my KTM with a Camel Toe, great piece of gear. I have the one for the S-10 waiting.

I have had zero wear on the bottom bolts of the Camel Toe , but then I ride side stand up

Hmmmm ... I have a Touratech unit on mine. It's fine. I'm light on my stuff so maybe I haven't seen the weakness in the design yet. I'll keep an eye on it and report back accordingly.

Re the Toutatech one, I found that on mine, when I used it on soft/lose surfaces, the lower plate deformed and curled up at the edges leading the thing becoming all loose and floppy.
I found the rep at a bikers meet (ACE Cafe adventure bike meet) and just gave it back to him in disgust.
I then welded a larger plate over the top of the original. This had the advantage of not lowering the stand (as most others do) and only has any effect when the main original foot sinks into the ground a bit.

Yep, Touratech know it's not right because when I contacted them about mine they said the same thing had happened with theirs. They refunded promptly, so credit to them for that.

I've just put on a replacement ordered in from Hepco & Becker in Germany (through Motobins in the UK) which is one piece aluminium, milled to fit around the foot and held there by screws/ washers gripping onto the foot edges. Looking a lot more solid than the Touratech effort so far.

I think I'll contact Touratech and ask them if they intend to upgrade their product. They seem like a progressive outfit I'm hopeful that they'll respond positively.

That H&B unit looks good I have to say.

I generally manage to keep a big chunk of ice on the end of my sidestand. By the time it finally melts in late August, the ground is frozen again and I don't need one. Works out pretty well. R
