A lot of you have tried these tires with some subpar results.
I have run the bias ply 805 probably 3 or 4 times, with some punctures and one time I even had to put a tube in to keep going.
I have rode with riders that got a puncture and even ran into some random riders that said they tried them and ended up riding for miles on flat because it would spit out the plug.
So I decided to try the Radial 805. They have shorter knobs when new than the bias ply so they didn't look like they could last long enough for me.
I put this rear tire on to ride the TWAT and rode some deep sand and some very slick muddy slime. I would say these are not motocross knobby's but was very empresses. They just happen to be some of the most impressive pavement tires that I have run. [I have not tried any Road Attack Street Fighter racing type tires, Have no interest in that kind of tire.] They ride so soft and smooth on pavement and no noise that I can hear.

This tire now has 10,000 miles on it. I keep checking my log book because I just can't believe it has been that long.
I wouldn't say that I'm a hooligan type of rider, but I don't baby it. I will probable run it down until it's not pretty so I would guess it will easily run me another few thousand.

This front bias ply 804 only has 5,000 miles on it. I think it is fantastic!!! , smooth, and great off pavement and on.
I had one of them clearance Mefo Knobby front tires from Twisted Throttle on when I rode on the WTAT and it was probable the worst tire that I have ever put on a bike.
I have another Radial 805 in my shop for a second tire test but if it's anything like the one on my bike now, they have me hooked.
Disclaimer , I just can't put a China tire on my 2017 that my wife rides with me on, It just doesn't feel right. Kind of like she would have no value. So I'll probable stick with E-07+ on that bike.

I've always been told to not mix radials and bias. Apparently, that's not true if you've put that many miles on them without issues.

Hey Steve !

I like the 804/805.. I have run several sets. I have two issues with both front tires. And my buddy and I just got back from COBDR and his back tire is cracking and falling apart with 3K... Im starting to wonder about the "quality". My last front was use to run up to SD and run around off road. It was so out of round it was totally ridiculous the vibrations. They warranted the front tire and mentioned "yes, we have some issues"................. You dont say.......

Over all I like the shinko, but I think I have a new love in my life and have switched... LOL

Im ready to go ride with ya again !

BMW Ships many of their bikes from the factory with bias on the front and radials on the rear

When I ran a Karoo 3 on the Tenere it lasted only 2K miles. That was the end of my experiment with that tire.

It's just starting to hit the wear bars.
That is unbelieveable. I've only tryed one set of 804 / 805 when I went to Baja four years ago. They exceeded my expectations in the sand and on the black top. They felt like sport bike tires on the black top and I had no problem leaning it over untill the fun meters (grinding foot pegs) were going off. I had good luck with the Shinkos but I'm hooked on the Bridgestone Trailmax Mission tires for the Tenere now.

Any flats yet? I gave up on the bias ply Shinko years ago because of repeated flats. Even thorns on the trail had me plugging them.

Is the radial's sidewall stiffer than the bias ply? I cannot find the specs for plies/belts online. Would you look at your tire and post that info please?

Have you tried the front radial yet?

I just removed the front and rear today.
The front was down to the wear bars with just under 10,000 miles. the rear was done at 14,800 miles.
I'll have to check on the plys for you. I had no flats or any problems with this radial.
I did not know there was a front radial. I need to look for them.

Here are the tire specs.
Hmmm..I believe that is the same as the bias ply 805. Makes me wonder how the radial gets twice the mikeage and has better puncture protection. The radial version is even slightly cheaper than the bias ply. Think I will give the radial a try.
