Any plans for a full system Greg?
Yep... 8)
Full "cat-less" system should be ready just after Xmas.
With any luck I will be doing the full comparo on the dyno of standard vs std + MotorradWorks carbon cat-back vs MotorradWorks full system.

Stay tuned.

Greg.

I'm getting interested in this. In another thread I whined about a flat spot between 4-5k. I'll be honest, it bugs me a bit. Looking at the various charts from Akropvic, Arrow, Remus and so on I can see that some of these mufflers are doing a lot to smooth out the dips in the torque curves, in particular at 2.5k and 4.5k. This is what I want. I don't need more peak HP, but I want these dips removed/smoothed out by straightening out slope of power curve. Screw Euro homologation. I live out in the country and there's no-one around if I hit max gas in 2nd at 50km/h or whatever test they use for type approval.

Couple of questions:

-For those who know more than me, can we trust the dyno charts that the exhaust system manufacturer's publish? Or is it just semi-legal chain-pulling? Do they test multiple samples or just one?

-I'm looking for a technical explanation of the main factors, trade-off's in exhaust system design. For example, I notice that the complete Arrow system does not use a cross-connection between right and left outlet manifolds. This suggests that this is critical for engine performance/noise emissions or something else...That would make for some pleasant fireside reading this winter..

I have the Remus in Titanium on my s10, baffle removed and very sweet. There is a noticable
improvement in accelaration and the note is fantastic. I have noticed that the bike runs 5+ degrees
hotter in traffic and stop start stuff than it did with the standard can. Once it gets a bit of fresh air
it runs the same temp as the standard. Not sure why it does this, the thermo fan rarely clicked in
before the exhaust upgrade but now will run when sitting at the lights for any length of time.

So, next question. I don't like 5 deg hotter under any circumstances. Increased temp and reliability rarely go hand in hand. What's the deal with manufacturer's warranties with afterfmarket cans?

Fit the old can back on before making a claim?

Caveman, has the outside air temp gone up by 5C from before to after? This is your summer, right? As you say it seems hard to understand why the new can would cause this temp increase...
