From an email I just got from Yamaha "the rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated." I see that Yamaha is offering a 2022 ES version of the S10. Looks about the same as 2021.

I feel like I'm still in the "getting to know you, but I like hanging out" phase of my 2016 model.

Don't laugh, but the top 4 colors for an industrial paint manufacturer I worked for were blacks......followed by ANSI 61 gray and appliance white/......go figure
I read somewhere, that the most popular vehicle color is silver/gray, and has been for years. My "go-to" color is white; hard to screw it up. Never been a fan of black; too high maintenance. (like the '86 song Black Cars Look Better In the Shade)

Yeah, I really loved the '14 gray scheme and never preferred all black, but I'm stuck with it and it's growing on me a bit so far. The matte makes it easy enough for looks, but the only thing I don't care for is it's garnered the most LEO comments of any of the 3 palettes I've had. Have heard that my black Klim outers with yellow accents don't help. I'll have to take that as conspicuity.

LEO being Law Enforcement Officer. I've read several accounts and have had the experience of having been mistaken for law enforcement. Just a couple times over the years with both the blue and gray schemes, but 2 since riding a '21 beginning in July. Most recently I was told that the black cover over a rigid industries light bar appeared to be a radar instrument. Personally I watch the road, but to each their own.

So, where are they? Are they still too good to come to our forum? Or, have they signed up, and are just not telling us where/what they came from? :D
I’m here.
I was actually searching for a basic last of the single cam 08/09 GSs, or possibly a twin cam, but it had to be basic, no esa etc. The only ones I found were 10+ years old, 15k miles ish and still looking for £7-8000. I then saw my S10, new pre registered, 0 miles for £10500, so I raided the piggy bank and bought it.

But as noted due to Euro 5 it does not appear to be listed on the EU sites which was the main talking point earlier. We all know that with the chip shortage many manufacturers have old non-complete inventory waiting to be shipped. This includes cars, trucks, electronics and motorcycles. Look at Chevy launching a new MY22 Silverado but keeping the old MY21 model in place because they have units to ship. I think what we are seeing with the Super Ten is a model year transition to hopefully something new or death.

Maybe for the unknowing. There's only two LE bikes on the market; BMW, and H-D. (because someone at Honda was a dumbass, and scrapped the ST) Now of course there are remaining ST13s, and the rare Kawis, but the Tenere looks absolutely like none of them.

But, hey, if they think you're the po-po, maybe they'll put down their phones, and drive right.

I'm with Sierra....I hate black vehicles. I hate the flat black look even more.

I'm a retired LEO also, and been all over the US on my blue 2014, and can honestly say that my bike being mistaken for a police bike was something I never encountered. I've had my share of "is that a BMW?', but that's about it. I even have a retiree decal on my helmet from my old department, which pretty prominently displays my Department's patch, and still no one makes the connection.

Which definitely suits me just fine. I'd just as soon no one thinks my bike is a police bike when it's parked somewhere out of my sight.

Don't get me wrong . . . . the Tenere should be an LE bike. Perfect for the job. Just needs non-OE bags.

For the unknowing, definitely. When pulled over to take in a view and get a pic I happened into an elderly couple who commented that they had thought it was a police bike when I was behind them earlier. Apparently my black Klim gear with it's yellow accents added to the error.

As for giving the phones a rest... A guy can dream.

In my little circle they call it covid black with yellow safety accents. Yeah, that BMW thing comes with the territory I think. Darned roundels.

Having converted from tent to hotel camping I always park next to the entrance for some piece of mind. Everywhere else, the dice roll as I trust in insurance more than the public at large. Other than a child touching my shiny hot exhaust I've been lucky with vandalism.

Thank you for your service!

I've never had any issues with vandalism, and I've definitely been in some less than four star hotels. I almost always take a bike cover with me, and cover the bike when it's parked. No idea if that makes a difference, but it makes me feel better.

I've never been big on parking near hotel entrances. Too much traffic in that area with cars coming and going, which just increases the chance of a hotel guest whacking into your bike when they aren't paying attention . I just try and park it where I can see it from the room. So far, in about 15 years of fairly frequent touring, it's worked in my favor. Now that I've said it out loud, of course, Fate may decide to punish me for my hubris.

HAHAHA.....here i'm the opposite. "IT's BLACK or TAKE IT BACK"
My S10 is black, my F350 superduty is black, my wife's car is black even my other favorite toy "snowmobile" is black.
The only thing that didn't make the "Black" list is my boat or house, ok the dog... LOL.
I love black iron, NON shinny, so flat i like too. Yuk for shinny and chrome is just plain ugly in my books.
My buddies call me a bit of an outlier???

But, you live in the Great White North! :D Plenty of shade for your black truck to look better in. :D My wife's niece just built a house . . . . and painted it black . . . . in Texas. o_O

DM and I refuse to own a black bike. We've each totaled every black one we've owned. No more black bikes is a rule.
Haha. Sworn off for me was the painful yellow scourge, YZ. Real love/hate thing with those. Only to find me coming back drooling over the '12 S10 and hooked ever since.
